Ardie is a young Jack Russell who after playing with a ball exhibited pain in his rear end and after a few hours became paralysed. He visited our friends at VSA Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa in Christchurch at the start of October last year, where he had a hemilaminectomy. Ardie was given a 50/50 chance of walking on his own again. Ardie started seeing Happy Hound Vet Limited and was referred to us here at Aqua Paws for hydrotherapy.
Ardie has been attending weekly hydrotherapy sessions and he is improving so much thanks to his dedicated owners. Here is a wee video of him taking steps in the treadmill with some help π We love seeing the progress Ardie has been making each week and always puts a smile on our face π₯°πΆ
You are all as invested as I am with Bear, so enjoy todays update from Emma π₯Ή
And a recent update. Happy therapists Mates4Life π₯°
My absolute favourite posts are happy updates! The first video is Bear at his first appointment - note the unsteady and ataxic gait (he is crossing his hind legs) and you can hear him scuffing his back feet. Second video is update from mum, out enjoying a walk in Arrowtown π₯°
Made a wee reel this morning for Insta and thought it would post here too π€
Water quality is very important to us at Aqua Paws. Here is a little behind the scenes of me testing the water in the morning well before my first dog arrives. This is to ensure it not only looks great but is safe for patients too. I do this early so that I have time to balance any parameters that may be out π©βπ¬
We hope you all had a great Queens Birthday weekend with your pooches. Here are the cute faces Krystle had the pleasure of seeing today! π
Zammy LOVES water and creates his own therapy! He does this as the water is filling the treadmill and even once it is deep. Super cute water boy π
