Canine Hydrotherapy for Fitness + Rehabilitation Aqua Paws provides holistic health care to pets through rehabilitation and hydrotherapy treatment.

We assist pets recovering from injury or living with disease, weight loss, and to build strength and fitness for sport dogs. We offer hydrotherapy services with an underwater treadmill and swimming pool. The business is owned by Krystle Kelly and Louise Marsh. Services will be provided by Krystle who is a vet nurse with 10 years vet nursing experience. She is also Certified in Canine Rehabilitatio

n (CCRP) with 4 years hydrotherapy experience. And Louise who also has 4 years hydrotherapy experience and a wealth of knowledge from being involved in dog sports. We look forward to seeing you and your pet at Aqua Paws soon .

🔔Christmas hours🔔
We will be closed from Tuesday the 24th December. We will reopen for one day on Friday the 27th December for anyone who would like an appointment between Christmas and the New Year. 🎉🐾

We will then reopen on Monday 6th January 2025. 🐶

We know this time of year is very busy for everyone. We would like to remind clients to please double check your appointment reminders and confirmations to ensure you do not miss your dog's appointment with us. If you are unable to make your appointment please contact us as soon as possible as we may then need to shuffle our day around. We are fully booked most days currently.
Any cancellations less than 24hours before the appointment will incur a fee as well as any missed appointments.

Meet Baxter, another new client.

Baxter is attending Aqua Paws 💦 for laser and hydrotherapy sessions to manage his lumbosacral disease—a condition in which nerves in the lower back become compressed, leading to pain, weakness, and limited mobility.

Hydrotherapy’s unique benefits, such as:

💦 Controlled water temperature

All work together to alleviate pressure, reduce pain and inflammation, enhance mobility, and build muscle strength—all with minimal strain.

It’s been a busy time here at Aqua Paws 💦 with lots of new pups starting laser and hydrotherapy treatments.

Meet Jye, who’s here for laser therapy to ease discomfort in his neck, shoulder, and spine. As you can see, he’s all smiles during his session with Danielle!

Laser treatment can help with: 🐾 Reducing chronic and acute inflammation and pain 🐾 Supporting wound healing 🐾 Recovering from tendon, ligament, and muscle injuries 🐾 Managing arthritis and degenerative joint conditions 🐾 Post-orthopedic procedure recovery.

We hope everyone and their animals 🐕 are safe and dry today after heavy rainfall ☔️ and flooding.

We have cancelled hydrotherapy for this afternoon so that we stay off the roads while damage is assessed and roads reopened. We will be back to seeing clients on Monday.

We understand some of you may have damage to your property and restrictions in access. We are thinking of you all. Let us know next week if you have any concerns about attending your appointments.

More wild weather out there 😬 we hope everyone is staying warm and dry! For anyone with appointments tomorrow, if you are unable to get to your appointment due to flooding etc please contact us as soon as possible.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday (1st & 2nd October) Balmacewan road is being resealed, weather permitting.
Please allow extra time to get to your appointment and be aware parking will be limited. If need be please drop your dog off and then go find a park 🐾

From Tuesday to Friday next week (24th-27th September) there is going to be roadworks outside the shop. Please allow plenty of time to get to your appointments and due to the roadworks parking will be limited. For any dog's that are unable to walk far please park out the front of the shop or drop them off then go and find a park 😊

Ardie is a young Jack Russell who after playing with a ball exhibited pain in his rear end and after a few hours became paralysed. He visited our friends at VSA Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa in Christchurch at the start of October last year, where he had a hemilaminectomy. Ardie was given a 50/50 chance of walking on his own again. Ardie started seeing Happy Hound Vet Limited and was referred to us here at Aqua Paws for hydrotherapy. Ardie has been attending weekly hydrotherapy sessions and he is improving so much thanks to his dedicated owners. Here is a wee video of him taking steps in the treadmill with some help 😍 We love seeing the progress Ardie has been making each week and always puts a smile on our face 🥰🐶
