🐾 Meet the Team – Belinda! 🐾

Some of you may already recognize Belinda from Vets @ St Clair! Belinda joined the Humanimals team as a casual veterinary nurse in 2022, bringing experience in both mixed and small animal practice since 2007. She enjoys meeting a wide variety of pets and their owners and loves seeing patients recover and thrive after treatment.

🐾 Meet the Team – Our Veterinary Nurses! 🐾

Next up are two of our wonderful veterinary nurses, Lorraine and Leah! Both are passionate about providing compassionate care and helping every patient feel as comfortable as possible during their visit.

Lorraine began her veterinary nursing journey in 2020 and joined the Humanimals team in 2023. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, with a special interest in anesthesia. Outside of work, Lorraine loves spending time with her family and her much-loved pets.

Leah joined Humanimals as a casual nurse in 2024 before becoming a full-time member of the team in 2026. She enjoys caring for all of our patients, especially dogs. Outside of work, Leah loves spending time with her family, going to the gym, and exploring local forest walks.

🐾 Meet the Team – Our Senior Veterinary Nurses! 🐾

This week we're introducing our Senior Veterinary Nurses, Casey and Caitlin. With a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a shared passion for patient care, they're an integral part of the Humanimals team.

Casey joined Humanimals in 2021 and completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing in 2022. She has a special interest in anaesthesia and feline nursing and is currently completing a Certificate in Feline Nursing. Outside of work, Casey enjoys reading, gaming, and spending time with her partner and her cat, Beelzebub.

Caitlin has been part of the Humanimals team since 2023 and completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing in 2025. She has a keen interest in canine behaviour and is leading the development of our Puppy School programme. Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys spending time with her husband and her rescue dog, Lucky.

🐾 Meet the Team – Our Newest Nurses! 🐾

Next up in our Meet the Team series are our two newest veterinary nurses, Kym and Chanel! We're thrilled to have them as part of the Humanimals family and can't wait for you to get to know them a little better.

Kym joined the Humanimals team in May 2026 after relocating to Dunedin. With a background in wildlife and emergency and critical care nursing, she enjoys getting to know our regular patients and clients. Outside of work, Kym loves exploring Dunedin's walking tracks and beaches with her greyhound and enjoys photography.

Chanel also joined the Humanimals team in May 2026 as a new graduate veterinary nurse. She enjoys the variety that every day brings and has a particular interest in anesthesia. Outside of work, Chanel spends her time with her partner, one cat and six dogs, and enjoys baking, dog walks, and spending time with family and friends.

🐾 Meet the Humanimals Team! 🐾
Over the coming weeks, we'll be introducing the wonderful people who make up the Humanimals team. From our vets and nurses to our client care team, you'll get to know the friendly faces who are here to care for you and your pets. We're kicking things off by introducing our two newest veterinarians!

Dr DeAnna- All the way from the USA, DeAnna joined the Humanimals team in September 2025 after moving to New Zealand. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with particular interests in emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, she loves exploring New Zealand with her Vizsla, Rupert, and enjoys astronomy and astrophotography.

Dr Liz- Originally from the UK, Liz qualified as a veterinarian in 2000 and has lived in New Zealand for over 20 years. She joined the Humanimals team in late 2025 and has a special interest in feline medicine and cat-friendly care. Outside of work, Liz enjoys gardening, spending time with her family, and her two cats, Suzie and Kora.
