A random find at Kmart is going to give us lots of learning opportunities β€οΈ. A set of four buttons you record words into and teach the dog to press the correct one for what they want.
Lola has always been too smart for her own good and far too smart for me! If she hadn't been so messed up as a youngster and so very scared of the majority of humans I would have done agility etc with her. Instead I spent so much time making up new games and tricks to keep her agile mind occupied and satisfied.
As she's gotten older I've been a bit lazy but tonight I've reminded myself she is still whip smart despite being an elderly lady. She learned very quickly within a few minutes to push the button for a cookie πͺ. The videos remind me I need to work on my training techniques at being consistent.
Meanwhile Zico managed to push the button a couple of times but they might have been a fluke as he won't do it again. He's always been a slow learner bless him π₯°.
**Second video in comments as FB wouldn't let me post two at once.**
Practising our group stay. Zico was distracted by ducks π¦π
Here we have a 'Slomobi'. See what I did there? π
Does anyone else's dog hate the lawn mower as much as mine does?! Haven't had much need for it this year, poor sad lawn. Cannot leave it unattended or she will ruin her teeth!
Nothing beats a good bro-mance π₯°.
A quiet moment with team Thursday π₯°.
When you're well over 90 and no longer give a toss β€οΈπ
Jed 'helping' Lola 'help' me mow the lawns. Every year I bring it out I hope she will stop thinking it might kill us. π€£π₯°πΉ
Patch is our youngest and newest team member and we have a little bit of work to do on a couple of behaviours but his solo sit and wait is better than anybody else β€. He can go a lot longer than this but no one has time to watch that π.
After making the call to cancel today we had a lovely day off and visited one of our favourite spots at Signal Hill. For your entertainment this is what my crazy girl does sometimes instead of 'bobbing for apples' in a puddle π
. As you can imagine I have some problem areas in my lawn!
So, this was part of our track today! Some of the dogs who know the track well were a bit puzzled! I ended up filling my gumboots, which didn't make for such a fun walk for me but the dogs had a great time! So hard taking photos in this weather as the water droplets set of all sorts of apps on the phone so here is a little video instead. Apologies for the averageness of it as I am no cinematographer π
