Registered kennels such as Akora are bound by regulations which promote ethical breeding practices, disallow close inbreeding, and discourage puppy farming by disallowing the breeding of bi***es too early, too often, or too many times. Today we took Sparks for a drive to meet two of her new humans, who took her the rest of the way home to Morrinsville. We heard that, on the second leg, she travelled well and slept most of the way.

Bye-bye cutie pie, enjoy life on the farm at your fur-ever home!

Now we just have Mr. Gus, who will be staying with us for a while, while his human recovers from an unfortunate injury. Good thing he’s so lovely ❤️

We said goodbye today to Storm’s boy Axel. He and his owners have made it home to New Plymouth, and we were happy to hear that he travelled very well. This good boy was very brave for his first bath this morning before he left us.

Today, we said goodbye to Greycie, who has gone to Featherston, and Chips, who is headed for Ngāruawāhia. We’ll miss you guys, and we hope you settle in well at your fur-ever homes with your new owners and big four-legged siblings 💕

This afternoon, we bode farewell to the first pup of Storm’s to go to her fur-ever home: Miss Yuki. She was good for her first bath, and, of course, scrubbed up gorgeously.

Have fun in Wellington, Yuki! You will definitely be well-loved and looked after. We’ll miss your confident personality and your silly antics 😘

Thanks you to everyone who enquired about our beauitful Mr Turqs.... he has now found his forever home. His name is now 'Chips'

AND THEN THERE WAS 1!

There always has to be the last of a litter to find their forever home. And here he is.... last, but by no means, least... affectionly known by us as 'Turqs' (turquoise coloured collar). This wee boy is likely the most people focused pup Akora Kennels has ever bred.
As much as he enjoys playing with his litter mates, he absolutely loves the attention of humans, when we are out in the puppy area he is very quick to be looking for attention and cuddles. He is a confident boy with a gentle disposition.
He will be ready for his forever home from the 25th of January.
If you, or someone you know, are looking to add a new member to your family, you will not be disappointed with this wee boy. Please PM me if you'd like more information.

These cutie pies are six weeks old! As ever, they’re continuing to thrive, make great weight gains, and explore more and more. They’ve graduated to hard biscuits, and have been eating them happily.

I spend 1 day prepping and 1/2 a day baking sourdough loaves for a friend.... I leave the 'angel dog', who never steels food off the bench, inside while I go and feed the puppies, and this is what I come back to.
