Are ya ready to know the secret?!
I won’t be taking on any new clients til at least 2025 maybe even 2026 because I am currently carrying precious cargo! Im due July and I’m very excited to meet this little one!

Videos are coming once I get round to editing the random shots of the grass or anything that is not a pony! But there is a lot so will slowly add them up this week… if my laptop plays the game that is! Technology is definitely not my friend at times!

Iv had Gatsby with me for the past couple of weeks! Most of his work had been done by his owner so all I had to do was start the dragging process and then onto the cart!
He’s had a couple of road trips and a variety of schooling sessions in the paddock! Very quick learner but sometimes gets a bit forgetful!

Drama is becoming a pro at pulling the sled! So much so we are starting the cart preparation.
Todays session was probably the best session we have had. Very forward with only a few shows of the hooves! I’ve been matching his high energy and it seems to be working!
Getting use to the cart is going to take time tho as he’s very unsure about being in the shafts!

Things are changing…. Well more so my hours are changing at my normal day job. My current hours are 4am-12:30ish but will be changing to 6am till 2:30 and then further down the track it will be 8am til 4:30. I’m lucky this is happening when we are coming into summer so I still have time to work ponies but in the winter months it means that I won’t have any daylight to be working ponies. So over the winter period I won’t be having any ponies in work. I think that makes sense??
But anyway updates will come later on tonight. Also updates will also be done once a week too 🥰

And we are dragging the sled! We are doing everything at dramas pace! He still tends to get a bit anxious at the start of our session but settles nicely and is picking everything up so nicely!

I took more videos than photos today.
Today was dramas first time with the reins on the bit.
We worked more on stopping today and did some work over the bridge.
I love how these photos show 2 different the beginning and end of our session. I would like drama to be a little more relaxed before we start dragging, when he says no he tends to back up and on the odd occasion show me the bottom of his hooves. Tho is saying this, this behaviour is becoming less which is good!

Drama is being a pro at long reining! He has turning and going forward like a pro. We are just working on stopping and being patient! Such a good boy!

Patience is key!
Until we have a calm pony and not a busy body then I’ll quite happily sit around. Because when it comes to the cart we need a calm pony that is happy to stand around while I sort out the gear etc

Has been sitting outside for awhile. Is missing 1
Wheel but it is a sturdy cart. I do have 2 motorbike wheels that I can send with it tho I do not if these will fit or not. This cart would suit larger Shetlands and small ponies. $350

Hey all!
It’s been awhile since iv been on here!
Just wanting to give a bit of an update:
I’m still closed for the see able future… probably mid-late 2023.
Iv been on quite the journey in the past few months. I have been going to the gym and riding a lot more with the odd drive thrown in.
Iv also to date lost a whopping 28 kgs!!!
I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and new year!

Thought I should give a bit of an update! I have had a very tough couple of months! My life has changed dramatically and I need to focus on myself and my own ponies! So I will be no longer taking on any more bookings! My mental health comes first and foremost so I need to get that under control! I have loved working with every single one that has come through my gate. The easy and the most difficult ones!
So here I am closing my gate for the time being and one day I hope I get to open the gate again!

Arrow has been learning to self load into the float!
Only having been recently gelded about 4 months ago he has settled down impeccably! This chunky monkey will eventually be put in cart when I have time but he will start coming on outings on the lead!

Iv gone back to basics with bj. He has been in cart before but he is a little unsure of the cart.
The pool noodles are replicating the shafts so we will continue to use them while we are dragging the sled, and then work back up into the cart again.

Last week we did some long reining on the halter and Cody was full steam train so we have done a few session with the reins on the bit and he has improved lots, instead of steam training ahead he was a lot calmer. Cody will be introduced to the sled tomorrow in prep for dragging! I love how solid and big this mini Is! My ideal size that’s for sure!

Working so well on long reining so will hopefully start dragging in the next couple of days! We are long reining on the halter until Clint is happy with the bit 😊 he’s doing so well! Such a good wee Shetland!

Jonty is going fabulous in the cart! We even had some trots! Such a good brain on this boy! I had a wee sit on the way back to the tie ups.
