The Canine Ritz is for any sized elderly dogs that require special care in a 'home environment' that cannot jump a fence. I mostly take care of small to small/medium, as long as they don’t jump fences. No one has actually tried, they seem to be having so much fun. The dogs will live with me in my home and become part of the family. (I adhere to Doggie Diplomas training methods for those of you th

at train with Cath). Having been in the Pet Industry for over 25 years, I specialise in the administration of all kinds of medications. I have a certificate in Reiki, animal reiki obviously is my thing! I'm also embarking on a grooming course at the moment. You can go away on holiday, knowing you can breathe easy that your beloved four-legged family member will be well loved and well taken care of!

If you’re looking to book your dog in, I’m afraid you’re a bit late!

You can go on the waiting list, but please try elsewhere as there is no guarantee that things will change once everyone has confirmed their Christmas/New Year dates.
There is space BEFORE Christmas and AFTER New Year.

Dogs escape during fireworks they panic and bolt , they will look for an escape routes to get away from the lights , the smell the horrific noise that come with today's permitted bombs .

Dogs will push past owners whilst at an open external door , jump through windows (sometimes through the glass ) and through cat flaps.

Your garden with the six foot fence is a mere inconvenience, most will scale to escape , they will go through or dig under , a small but safe inconvenience would be to keep your dog on a lead .

Dogs will slip harnesses and collars while on walks , doesn't matter if it's night or day , double up on the lead and don't think it's just a quick five minutes, you're setting your dog up to fail .

Whilst most pet owners absolutely hate fireworks and accidents do happen it's our responsibility to keep or pets safe .

Please be careful.

Most of you know Leo belongs to Jayden from Te Awahou Funeral Services , Marina, (Digby’s mama), also shares him, he’s supposed to be meeting and greeting grieving families to help bring some comfort to them.

Problem, he’s a little bit shy, so you, my lovely clients, can help if you can, just take a few minutes to let me bring Leo out on a lead to introduce him to you.
Let him sniff your hand, don’t try to pat him, unless you see he’s all in. I’ve noticed he’s more shy with some more than others, but he’ll get there.
Patience & positive encouragement.

Even better if you have time, come into the front yard, sit down on the seats on the patio so Leo might be more likely to keep coming back to you if you’re not towering over him, I may even put a few little tidbits out for you to give him to help encourage him to not be so shy.
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

He’s coming back in tomorrow, tho he’ll be taking a trip to Palmy with me, I have Physio in the morning.

Bella’s annual groom.
Last year I didn’t have a grooming table, and the owner just wanted a trim and nails clipped, this time she got a proper spa day.
Hopefully next year when she comes in, I’ll have a spare room I can do all my grooming in?!
