Is currently in foster/potential rehome!

This 3yr old, female, Belgian shepherd cross is looking for a new home. She is friendly, sweet natured and knows basic commands. There is a but .. she has recently been diagnosed with Addison’s disease and will require lifelong medication. However, dogs with this are expected to live a full, long life. She would also need 6 monthly vet checks and blood tests. We have estimated her monthly costs to be around $130+ per month, maybe less, maybe more. It’s a little unknown how she will respond to meds at this stage.

We really want to give her a chance at a good long life, which will entail an active family as she’s a high energy dog that requires stimulation and good training. So, someone experienced with this type of dog would be ideal. We love her and are looking for the perfect home for her

This very sweet, affectionate and chatty boy was found today near our clinic. He is very skinny and HUNGRY so may have been lost for some time. Is someone missing him? He is desexed so was part of someone’s family once, but not microchipped. Message us or phone the clinic 068677387 if you think he might be yours 😻

Did you know oral disease has become a top health problem for dogs? 🐶🦷

Here are our top tips for preventing dental problems and keeping your canine’s smile in tip-top form:

✅ A nutritious diet
✅ Chew treats can help remove plaque and provide stimulation for the gums.
❌ Watch out for wood – throwing sticks to dogs or letting your dog pick up a piece of wood can result in splinters and gum damage.
❌ Don’t let your pet chew on hard materials like stones or even some types of bones. They can wear down and even break teeth, damage gums, and lead to infection.

It's Check the Chip Day - a day to check your pet's microchip and make sure their registration details are up to date!

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is a vital tool to help you reunite with your pet if they get lost, go missing or are injured and taken to a local vet clinic.

If your pet isn't microchipped, talk to your vet team about the process.

If your pet has been microchipped, today is a great day to check your contact details are up to date on the national companion animal register. Head to animalregister.co.nz/ to check your details!
