Bring your furry friend along for a special trial weekend where dogs on leads are welcome to explore the Arboretum with you.

This is a rare treat—dogs aren’t usually allowed at Eastwoodhill, so don’t miss this special opportunity to explore the Arboretum with your four-legged friend!

Did you know there’s 25 km of walking track? What’s more, the Pop Up Tasty Leaf Café will also be open, serving yummy food and good coffee.



If this trial is a success, we'll look at making dog-friendly visits a regular monthly feature at Eastwoodhill!

📅 Trial Weekend Date: 20 and 21 September 2025 (First weekend of the school holidays!)

It was International Cat Day yesterday so our cat owning staff members have been celebrating their favourite felines. 😻🫶

Here at Petfirst Veterinary we love our kitty-cat patients so much that we are a ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine) Silver Accredited Feline Friendly Practice.

This means that your cat will be cared for in a cat friendly and low stress environment.

Not only do we have a cat friendly waiting area and consult room, away from any dogs, but we also have our separate cat hospital area set up to make your cat (and you) as comfortable as possible.
Our vets and nurses are trained in cat friendly and low stress handling and keep their knowledge up to date with cat specific continuing education.

On Wednesday a very friendly young male ginger cat was found outside EIT opposite Holy Trinity Church.

It is Veterinary Receptionist Week so we're celebrating our amazing receptionists George and Tory.

These incredible ladies are always going the extra mile to help our clients and ensuring our patients are kept comfortable in the waiting room.... and while doing that, they also have the mammoth task of keeping the vets and nurses happy by keeping the days ticking along smoothly! Their smiling faces and endless kindness and patience is second to none.

George and Tory, thank you for all that you do we certainly would be lost without you! 🥰🥰

This female cat with no microchip was found on the Kanakanaia Road in Te Karaka. She has possibly been hit by a car and is stable for now. Please contact us at the clinic on 06 868 5151 if this is your girl

FOUND PUPPY
We had a puppy surrendered to us by a kind member of the public at the end of day last Thursday. She was found on SH35 near Tolaga Bay. She is a white and red Catahoula mix, approximately 8 weeks old. She needs medical attention, if you think this is your puppy please contact us at the clinic on 06 868 5151

This beautiful boy was picked up around 560, 562 Wainui Rd around 9am this morning after being clipped by a car.

He is a fully intact male, domestic short haired tabby cat with no microchip.

We are currently keeping him comfortable with pain relief in the hope we can find his pet parents as soon as possible.

He is a purry boy in great condition so please help us find his humans 🙏🙏🙏 Call the clinic on 868 5151
