Huge congratulations to Amelia Gower and ME!

First ribbon together as a team, they have only been to a couple of shows competing now and the training has officially paid off.

Not to forget her teammate T***k who also got herself a ribbon, back from injury and bringing home the ribbons of course.

Goodluck tomorrow team.

🐾 Honouring our four-legged friends this International Dog Day 🐾

Tomorrow is International Dog Day, and we’re taking a look back at the brave animals who served alongside countless New Zealand Military units during the First and Second World Wars. 🐶 These loyal companions were more than just pets—they were trusted workers, highly trained to sound warnings, find the wounded in battle, and even serve as mascots, bringing morale to the troops. Whether sniffing out danger, delivering crucial messages under fire, or participating in ceremonial roles, their contributions were invaluable and saved countless lives.

Many New Zealand dog lovers offered their beloved dogs for service during the war, whether as working animals or mascots. One such dog was ‘Paddy’ who was a great favourite of the Wellington Infantry Regiment. He's pictured here being presented to the Prime Minister William Massey at Vauchelles, France, on 30 June 1918.

Check out our Online Cenotaph blog in the comments below to read more about Paddy and many other heroic hounds, both on the front lines and in ceremonial duties. 🐕‍🦺
