Thanks to Batman and the team at RB Rural Ltd we have a drenching pack to be auctioned off with all funds going to the Southern Scooter Challenge on Saturday. The pack includes:
A 15 litre pack of Cydectin drench
A drench gun and backpack
An LED headlamp
A three-pack of socks
Two litres of anti-septic liquid

The starting bid is $550....if you wish to place a bid on this fantastic pack simply text "Scoot" to 5009, with your details. The person with the highest bid will receive this fantastic pack, and the money raised from the winning bid goes towards the scooter ride on Saturday that myself and Porky Smith are participating in which is raising funds for Hospice Southland.

What a kick in the guts the last few days have been weather-wise.... when it seems there are so many challenges to farming the last thing we needed was for Mother Nature to be against us as well . NZ Farmers are a bloody resilient bunch, but make sure you call your neighbours, lend a hand if you can and support each other. On a positive note... here is one lucky little survivor!

We were proud to be a part of Agri Kids this year at the show. A shout out to West Otago Young Farmers and especially Kirsten Ann McIntyre for running such an awesome session. RB Rural is proud to play a part in the day!!

Have you considered the use of a catch crop after winter brassicas or fodderbeet? This is called a spader, or one-pass inversion drill and it does a pretty amazing job converting a moderately pugged beet paddock into a seedbed suitable for cereals to be sown into.
