November/ December appointments.

Hi team. Please note, I am now fully booked until the new year so please try your best to make your appointment or give me plenty of notice if you need to change so I can try and swap you with someone else as I have NO free spaces left for rebooks, I will always try my best to find someone to swap if need be, but I cannot guarantee this will happen.

I am also taking 2 weeks off to fly back home to Perth over the Christmas break so ALL appointments will be pushed back 2 weeks over this time period, please keep this in mind when your bring your pup for their next groom so you can choose a length that will last them that extra 2 weeks.

It’s so funny when pups get dropped off they put the breaks on, they know a bath is coming 😂 but the second mum leaves, it’s all about the snugs, and I’m happy to oblige. I really needed it on this day and this is the very reason I love dogs! They just know when you need a hug 💙 I swear they look after me as much as I them sometimes!

I’m VERY luckily that all of my clients are 99% well behaved, we all have our bad days 😜

But I’m sharing this video because it’s a very realistic view point of what groomers face day to day, and it’s only getting worse as K9 behaviour continues to decline due to bad breeding practices! Anxiety in dogs these days from when I started grooming 20+ years ago is beyond imagination!

Whether it be from aggression or anxiety. We only spend 2 hours with your dogs every 6-8 weeks if we’re luckily!

It’s up to the owner to desensitise their dog to thegrooming experience at home in between grooms and NOT humanise their dogs when they act out at the groomers by making excuses for their behaviour!

Groomers want to help your dogs to enjoy the grooming experience, which let’s face it, 9/10 tolerate it at best! So talk to your groomer if you need assistance or are concerned that your dog is anxious about being groomed! Seek precessional help with training so you can learn how to be a confident dog owner so that you can provide leadership that your dog will respect and follow!

Working WITH your groomer to better help your dog is what is going to actually make a difference… not excuses, and definitely not the “poor baby” sentiments when it boils down to bad behaviour when it’s been allowed to develop.

Top tip- if you are purchasing a puppy, do your homework! If the parents are timid, or anxious or overly dominant go elsewhere! The temperament of the parents will rub off on their offspring and set you up for a hard challenge from day 1. Anxiety or dominate traits are NOT temperament traits suited for 1st time dog owners! A GOOD breeder will match you with a puppy to suit your level of dog ownership experience, not show you a photo and say .. “pick one”
