With the mayhem of the festive season we have been lax with Tui and her socialising with her harness and leash.

So tonight we went for a visit to the neighbours. She initially was not impressed being in her backpack but as soon as she got out she started exploring and finally settled.

So as part of our New Year’s resolution (see previous post), we have started with a little more time toward Tui’s training.

Yes, this was our little rescue from July. And yep she is blind. And she is a little fearless firecracker!

More footage of Tui, her backpack and adventures to come 😊

A little bit true! And definitely high on the resolution list … to spend more time with the animals ❤️❤️

Amen to that. We hope you any your BFFs had a great weekend.

Update on the flock tonight ... one new addition and still waiting for two of the mummas!

Update … Tabitha, Flossy and Frankie are still holding out.
Rosie had twins .. a boy and a girl.

Shirley’s little girl got cold so we have to bring her in for a night on Wednesday. So she got colostrum and a warm bed. The next morning after her 3rd feed we went to the field and she ran Mum and has been a little gorgeous playful little lamb.

Rosie’s little girl today got a top up too. She is struggling a little with locating her food.

And I am still topping up Esme’s twins morning afternoons and night.
So all is well with lambs so far. I just hope the others don’t have their babies in the cold snap that is meant to be coming.

Late post … this was yesterday. Esmay had her babies. First set of twins for the season. 1 girl and 1 boy. She only has 1 teat working so we are doing little too ups to help.
She is such an unbelievable mum, and let’s me do a feed with them.
All are doing well.

Another post to follow shortly!!

So this happened today … I was at work and was told about a kitten who didn’t look great.
So Ben and I went out on a little mission and we were able to catch her. She was a little feisty and very scared. She scurried into a boxed metal tube. She has very low vision. So Ben got a stick thing put it at the end. Me and my jumper scooped her up. She was not impressed, hissing, growling, fighting back, scared and wanted out. But luckily we held on to her. Took her to the office and put her in a box. And she stayed with me at work until I could get a vet appointment.

She is about 8 week old. She was dehydrated, given 80mls of fluid and some food. Her eyes are either infected or a birth defect. But we have ointment to trial and see if that helps her.

Got home and set up a little crate for her. She was a little feisty to begin with, but the settled after we got her, fed her … she ate about 70g of food, put some more eye ointment in her eyes, and just fell asleep being cuddled.

Mike wasn’t too excited when I phone … but we know how this will end 🤭🤭

She is very cute! ❤️❤️. Gotta love waifs and strays!
Stay tuned for updates!!

Today we were rained out … after going to the Feilding Farmer Markets where we picked up some sour dough loaf and baguettes, h**p CBD oil for Hunny.

In the last two days we cooked poached eggs for everyone (the feathered flock make the best eggs!), burnt the couch and burn pile, got 3 more garden beds filled (mainly to to Dad … thanks Dad!), and Evie pushed her way onto the couch for a bit of love.

The last few days we have been touring (rather quickly) around the South Island to Queenstown for a little stay before returning back home.
We are a little over the cars, but it has been fun!

Tomorrow we are back on the Ferry and heading home to our little patch … which I can’t wait to see the girls, Jet, the flock and the chookens!
