Hey Team! I’ve spoken to majority of you all about the upcoming weeks but thought I’d put it up here for you all. Just a quick update on what the next couple of weeks look like and a reminder that I am away at camp next week! So no walks will be on! Any questions feel free to flick me a DM or txt 😊
🚨MASSIVE MILESTONE 🚨
On this day today, this very walk, I am stoked to announce that Zeus started swimming! It may not seem like much to some but for me I count this as a huge win! And it’s one of the many reasons I love doing what I do!
Zeus has been out with me for a few adventures now and we understand each other, built up quiet a neat bond over the last few weeks. He doesn’t mind the water. he’s okay going in for a drink and getting his belly wet. And that’s okay. Not every dog likes swimming so I don’t force it.
But today one of our pack lost their harness in the river, so shoes off phone and keys safely on the bank I waded into the water to retrieve the harness, no biggie. The big deal was when I turned around I saw Zeus swimming in the river after me 😭❤️
THIS WAS HUGE! in all our walks I’ve never seen him swim. It might not seem like a major to some but man. For me it’s a huge win. For a dog to be able to feel confident and safe and trusted to step out of their comfort zone. It’s just an unreal thing to witness. I was over the moon! Just happy that I could create an environment where he felt safe enough to go into the river after me.
So naturally we stayed in the river a little longer just so he could get his water confidence up and for him to know that “hey I can swim, I’m not a bad swimmer, this is safe”
Also quick little mihi to Charlie, duke and Harry for going hammer and tongs straight into the river and showing the others that it’s safe to swim 😂😂 appreciate you Tuesday pack 🤘👏
