Our team wants to pass on their merriest Christmas and happiest New Year wishes to all our wonderful clients and colleagues.

We have had a very busy year and hope to continue doing our part in 2025.

As always, our phones will be answered 24/7 over the holidays, and our regular team will be back on shift on Monday, the 30th of December.

Check out the gorgeous Zeus, who is in the Christmas spirit after recovering exceptionally from ear canal ablation surgery this year; Zeus' family reports he is a different dog now that he isn't having to deal with recurrent ear issues.

We are OPEN from Wednesday the 27th to Friday the 29th Of December

Then we resume our normal hours from Wednesday the 3rd of January.

We have Dr Trudi available for urgent and critical referrals and Dr Daniel for surgical cases.

We offer TPLO at The Referral Centre Waikato and our package includes:
• Consultation with surgeon
• X-rays as required
• Pre-anaesthetic bloods as required
• Epidural
• Pain relief drip throughout the night
• Post op care overnight in a 24/7 fully staffed hospital
• First consult with Hydropaws hydrotherapy
• Post op follow-up support

Our estimate is from $4000 to $4500

Canine Blood Donors!

Here at The Referral Centre we keep a register of blood donors, we try to keep some blood on hand that we can use in urgent situations and share with other vet clinics. Otherwise we contact registered donors in emergency situations to see if they're able to help out.

Blood transfusions save lives of critically ill patients or patients that have had severe blood loss!

We recently met this lovely cat. She was in the care of the SPCA Waikato/Coromandel. She had injuries to her leg requiring orthopaedic surgery.

We were lucky enough to be able to help out and our surgeon Dr Daniel Alexander performed the surgeries pro bono.
