Meet RUSSEL!!

The newest member to our adoption pack is Russel.

Russel is approximately 1 year old, Labrador cross.

Russel is a very playful boy.
He LOVES to have a run around in paddock chasing his favourite toys (The giant tennis ball is by far his favourite). So much so he has asked us to let his new family know that he would like one of these in his new home.

Russel is a very sociable boy. He is great with other dogs. He loves to say hello to all his doggie friends in the morning before breakfast. That is the most important put of his day.
He has not yet met our resident pound cats Polly & Pablo but we will be sure to do this soon.

6-Month-Old Rottweiler Cross

The smartest boy on the block is looking for a home to call his own.

Despite his ‘home’ being the kennels since he was 14 weeks old, this boy is out to show up all his adoptee friends with his smarts. Oogie knows a few basic commands, like ‘sit’ ‘down’ and ‘wait’. We are also working on lead work and impulse control with doors and gateways, which he is picking up on quickly.

The biggest thing we are working on with Oogie is his confidence with the big wide world, Oogie can be quiet and reserved with new areas and would rather be by his carers rather than off exploring. Because of this we are looking for a quiet home with older dog savvy children, while he gains more confidence in the world.

Oogie gets on great with his fellow adoptee friends and was overly cautious with our pound cats, he wasn’t too sure if he should approach the cats or not. With careful introductions he would be fine in a home with resident cats.

Meet our "T Litter".

You may have seen a sneak peek of these beautiful babies on our story last week. Well, here is their official post!

T Babies.
Meet Tex, Terry, Theo, Truffle, Tofu, Teddy & Tatsuki (Suki for short).
These beautiful pups are approximately 3 months old.
We are guessing them to be Labrador cross.

There are 6 beautiful boys and 1 gorgeous girl.
These pups are super affectionate and extremely smart. They all already know how to sit.
A couple of them have started to pick up toilet training also.
They have your typical Lab behaviour of sniffing out food wherever it may be hidden.
These pups will fit very well into any Family dynamic as they are still young. We do however recommend their new families take them to puppy classes to help continue their training.

Meet Bunny!!

Bunny is an 8 week, Labrador cross.

Bunny is a small girl with big attitude!
She is very sassy little girl who has a lot of personality.

Bunny loves a cuddle and is SUPER people orientated!
She is a very playful girl and makes a for good distraction from work!

Bunny has had a run around with our resident pound cat Pablo. She had a wee sniff then continued to play with us and her toys.

Bunny is still young and will need a home that will have patience to continue training.
She would fit perfectly into any family dynamic because of this.

Meet Cola.
A playful boy ready to go to his forever home & have lots of fun with his new family.

Cola is a super affectionate & playful pup.
He loves to cuddle up & have a snuggle with his favourite humans.
Cola is a sneaky little boy who loves to play in paddling pool when no one is watching.

Cola has been introduced to our pound cats. He had a little sniff and then walked away. A home with confident cats would be perfectly fine for this boy.
Cola is great with other dogs.

Introducing the newest member of our adoption pack!
Finley!!

Finley is a male Border Collie.
Approximately 1-2 years old.
Medium to large in size.

Everyone meet our goofiest boy Finley.
As you can imagine Finley is a very energetic boy. He loves to run until he cant no more. And just when you think he's done, hell run a little bit more.
He is a very smart cookie who loves a treato from time to time.

Finley has been tested with our resident pound kitties. He would be fine in a home that has cats. He is a little unsure of them. This boy must've been told off by a few in his time as he would prefer to stay away from or be right by your side to pass them.

We are looking for a home that HAS Border Collie experience. He needs someone who understands the breed and can meet his needs.

Meet the oh-so-cute Gloria...

Gloria is the best mix of everything; she LOVES her people. She's cheeky, playful, and loving, all in one bundle of cuteness.

Gloria loves her toys, especially the ones that seem too big for her. She is food-motivated, and she has picked up on "sit" very quickly.

Gloria is the perfect age to slot into almost any family dynamic. She has just started teething, so lots of chew toys and supervision with young children are a must.

What a week we have had here at Hamilton Adopt A Dog. Following a weekend full of visits, we have had 6 dogs get adopted this week alone.

4 of our 'Lovely Little Lads', Joy and Holly have found their forever families. Hope they are all settling in well 💜

Thank you to everyone who has commented, shared, and liked our posts it means a lot to the team. It also helps our posts reach a wider audience, meaning our wonderful dogs find their families much quicker.

A HUGE thank you once again to Black Hawk Pet Care New Zealand for gifting bags of food to our adoptees. Starting them off in their new homes with a healthy diet is the first step to a long, loving life with their wonderful families.

A new year means a fresh start for Holly….

We decided to trial some new enrichment ideas, first was a towel treat ball. She gave it a good try but decided that the pool was more her style.

Holly is looking for a loving home, she isn’t super energetic. However, would still LOVE a morning or evening walk. Holly love to be close to the people she loves, and enjoys a sneaky treat here and there (but don’t we all)

Meet our ‘Lovely Little Lads’ – The “L” Boys

You may have seen our sneak peek of these boys on Christmas day… They had their very own Christmas day pool party!!!

Born at the beginning of October these boys are now 3 months old and are looking for their forever homes. We have been told mum is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross.

These little lads are at the perfect age to integrate into any family dynamic, starting some training will be a breeze. These guys LOVE their food.

These boys have had their first vaccination, up to date on worm and flea. They will be microchipped and registered to their new families, as well as desexing covered by their adoption fee. We will also send them home with a 3kg bag of Black Hawk puppy biscuits to get them started, All thanks to Hawk Pet Care New Zealand

Joy is a female staffy cross and approximately 4 months old.

Joy is the sweetest wee girl you could ever lay your eyes on.
Well she is still young and has lots of puppy energy. She loves nothing more than to be right by your side getting all the love and attention she deserves.

Joy is a super smart cookie and has already mastered sit. She has overcome her fear of the pool and water in the space of 5 minutes. She is highly treat motivated so continuing her train should be an absolute breeze for her new furever home.

4-Month-old Rottweiler Cross

Meet Oogie Boogie the happiest little chap ready too hang out and learn new things with his new family.

Oogie Boogie is a snuggly but playful boy. He loves to play with his favourite toys and run around with his big clumpy feet.

He will benefit in home that is willing to continue his training. We would also recommend puppy classes for this boy to help with some manners.

A home with older children is also recommended as although he is only 4 months , he is quite a large boy who isn't quite aware of his size.

We have tested him with Polly, our very bossy pound kitty and he did not care one bit. A home with cats should not be an issue at all for this wee man.
