Ridgeback x Doberman

Meet our sweet girl Lizzo, she is looking for a family to give her lots of snuggles and love.

Lizzo is such a happy and calm pup, but loves a good zoom in the grass with a toy.
Lizzo spent some time in the office over the Easter weekend, she was so quiet and well behaved that we forget she was curled up on her blanket. Her long lanky legs love to jump up and give us cuddles in exchange for pats.

Lizzo gets on well with her fellow adoption pack. She has met our cats Polly and Pablo, and quietly sniffed from afar.

Meet Brit our sweet lovable girl, who is looking for a family to call her very own.

Brit is ready to entertain her new family with her silly antics, she loves a good zoom around the room, before falling over her own feet or tripping over the large toy she's dragging around the room.

Brit is a super smart cookie, she has picked up on 'sit' and 'down' very quickly, she loves her food and will do anything to get an extra bit of treat.

Brit is at a great age to adjust to any family dynamic, she can be taught how to appropriately interact with cats and other animals.

Meet our sweet lovable Cricket, she is looking for a loving family where she will be pampered like the princess she is.

Cricket is an all-round happy girl. She loves her carers here at the centre and will lean right on in for a quick snuggle before zooming off again after her favourite toys.

Cricket gets on well with her fellow adoption members, and briefly met our pound cat Polly who she just wanted to play with.

8 Weeks Old
Mastiff Cross

Meet little Enzo, a happy go lucky pup ready to take on the world.

Enzo is a confident wee boy; he is at the perfect age to slot into any family dynamic.

Enzo LOVES his food! If its there he will find it. This is a great indication that starting training will be a breeze. Enzo would be a great candidate for puppy school and obedience classes for those new to dog ownership or those who would like a refresher on raising a young pup.

Nala
6-Year-Old Staffy Cross

Nala is looking for a loving family of her own.

She has a calm nature and is happy to just hangout alongside her favorite people. Although Nala isn’t a super energetic dog, we are sure she would love a daily adventure out to smell and see all the world has to offer.

Nala does know some basic manners; she responds to her name and knows to sit and wait for her food.

Nala is fine around other dogs, although she is not one to actively play with them. She is very tolerant of young pups. She briefly met our pound cats; she did show some signs of wanting to chase them, but broke her focus when called. With careful introductions and time, Nala could be okay in a home with a resident cat(s).

Josie is loving for an active family, she is a bouncy girl who loves to run.

We imagine Josie would love a home that will keep her body and mind active, she is a smart girly who has already picked up on some basic manners with the help of some treats.

Josie gets on well with her fellow adoption pack members, she was okay with our pound cats however did try to playfully chase when she would see them run past.

Meet Derwyn
A 7 year old British Bulldog.

Derwyn is a very special boy looking for a loving home. He is an old boy who just wants to spend his golden years lazing on the couch or in the sun.

Derwyn came to us in pretty rough shape, his skin had seen better days. However with some antibiotics, medicated baths and good food he is on the mend.

We are looking for a home that has experience with bulldogs, and a family that is committed to maintaining his condition. We do not want to see him back in the state he was in when he came to us.

We are very thankful to Fundraising for Impounded Dogs - New Zealand who are currently fundraising to cover the cost of getting his cherry eye removed. Which will be done at the same time as his desexing.

Harlow
3 Month old Labrador cross

Harlow has a sweet nature and is looking for a home where she can spend the evenings snuggled on the couch after a day of fun and adventure.

Harlow is the master of puppy eyes in an attempt to get what she wants, I mean how could you say no to those innocent eyes. She has picked up on some basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘paws up’, like most Labradors Harlow is very food motivated meaning continued training should be a breeze.

Harlow loves hanging out with her sister Autumn, and would be well suited to a home with another dog (although not a requirement) she was interested but cautious of our pound cats, she would do just fine in a home with resident cats.

Meet Autumn, an adventurous wee girl ready to take on the world. Autumn is looking for a loving home where she will get daily walks and join in on family adventures on the weekends.

Autumn LOVES her food treats are just the best, sometimes however treats are just so exciting we struggle to focus on the task at hand. Which of course is learning new things. With some play time out of the way she does start to focus but as she is still young short training sessions are key.

Autumn loves hanging out with her sister Harlow, and would be well suited to a home with another dog (although not a requirement) she was interested but cautious of our pound cats, she would do just fine in a home with resident cats.

Sweet baby Inka is on the lookout for a family of her very own.

Inka loves her carers here at the centre and wants nothing more than to hangout with them all day. She will even drag her toys over to play next to her favourite people.

Inka loves her fellow adoption friends. If you saw her debut on our stories you will have seen she is good friends with Brielle.

Inka met our pound cats Polly and Pablo, she has a little sniff but overall wasn’t too interested and just wanted to see what her human friends were doing.

Meet the very cute Goose!

Goose is on the look out for an active family to call his own.

Goose is an active boy who will need plenty of exercise, his ideal family will have experience with working breeds and are able to meet his energy needs.

Goose is a smart boy who has picked up on some basic commands quickly, however he struggles to hold those commands as he is just too busy waning to explore.

Goose loves making dog friends and gets along well with his fellow adoptees here at the centre. He was quiet unsure what to make of the cats and preferred to just check them out from a distance.

8-10 Months Old
Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross

Meet Panda, the zoomie loving staffy.

Panda is looking for a loving family to call her own. Pandas' only request is that her new home have a giant tennis ball. Panda LOVES the deflated one here at the centre. She gets so excited over the ball that she gets the classic ‘butt tucking staffy zoomies’.

Panda loves her fellow adoptee members; Russel is her favourite she must give him a quick visit at his kennel every morning before breakfast. Panda has met our pound kitties and was excited but also respectful when given the cats told her off.

The fire is now out. And we are now open to the public until 4.30pm

Due to a neighboring fire, we will be closed today 10th March.

All dogs are secure and safe, we will update when we know more.

Meet RUSSEL!!

The newest member to our adoption pack is Russel.

Russel is approximately 1 year old, Labrador cross.

Russel is a very playful boy.
He LOVES to have a run around in paddock chasing his favourite toys (The giant tennis ball is by far his favourite). So much so he has asked us to let his new family know that he would like one of these in his new home.

Russel is a very sociable boy. He is great with other dogs. He loves to say hello to all his doggie friends in the morning before breakfast. That is the most important put of his day.
He has not yet met our resident pound cats Polly & Pablo but we will be sure to do this soon.

Oogie Boogie
6-Month-Old Rottweiler Cross

The smartest boy on the block is looking for a home to call his own.

Despite his ‘home’ being the kennels since he was 14 weeks old, this boy is out to show up all his adoptee friends with his smarts. Oogie knows a few basic commands, like ‘sit’ ‘down’ and ‘wait’. We are also working on lead work and impulse control with doors and gateways, which he is picking up on quickly.

The biggest thing we are working on with Oogie is his confidence with the big wide world, Oogie can be quiet and reserved with new areas and would rather be by his carers rather than off exploring. Because of this we are looking for a quiet home with older dog savvy children, while he gains more confidence in the world.

Oogie gets on great with his fellow adoptee friends and was overly cautious with our pound cats, he wasn’t too sure if he should approach the cats or not. With careful introductions he would be fine in a home with resident cats.

Meet our "T Litter".

You may have seen a sneak peek of these beautiful babies on our story last week. Well, here is their official post!

T Babies.
Meet Tex, Terry, Theo, Truffle, Tofu, Teddy & Tatsuki (Suki for short).
These beautiful pups are approximately 3 months old.
We are guessing them to be Labrador cross.

There are 6 beautiful boys and 1 gorgeous girl.
These pups are super affectionate and extremely smart. They all already know how to sit.
A couple of them have started to pick up toilet training also.
They have your typical Lab behaviour of sniffing out food wherever it may be hidden.
These pups will fit very well into any Family dynamic as they are still young. We do however recommend their new families take them to puppy classes to help continue their training.
