Christmas Casual Kennel Attendant

Position Available:
This is a Christmas and New Years fixed term position starting December 2023 until January 2024. You will be required to work during our busy peak period holiday time over Christmas and New Years. Hours will be based on a roster around 8 hours per day which would typically be 6:30am starts and 6pm finishes. Around 25-30 hours per week. Additional hours may be available to cover leave or extra work after New Years so our senior staff members can have a well-deserved break. This role is specifically for someone to help over Christmas and New Years so you must be available to work during this time.
For the right person a permanent position may be available.

Jobs of this role include:
• Care for the dogs and cats within the facility.
• Clean and maintain the facility to the highest Metro Paws standard each day.
• Maintain a high level of activity on our social media.
• Be willing to be a part of our close team and show enthusiasm for your job.

Experience and qualifications
• Animal Care: experience and qualifications in this field would be desirable but not required as full training will be provided.
• Show the ability to handle animals, read their body language and know behaviour signals.

Personal skills
• Show great love and care and passion for all animals as if they were your own
• Have the ability to show initiative and be part of a team, but also be able to work independently to achieve tasks to a high standard.
• Be observant and responsive when it comes to animal health, care and behaviour.
• Be able to follow instructions, and have the desire to learn and grow your animal care skills.
• Have a great working ethic
