This brings us to the end of 2024! There were some awesome results for WAG at the most recent shows, in particular some great achievements for both our newer and experienced handlers at the recent ribbon trials.
At the Cambridge and WAG Ribbon trials:
Jenny and Rosa had a win and a 3rd in novice, and a 2nd in their first ever jumpers B run.
Ollie and Biscuit won a jumpers A and had a 3rd in novice
Amanda and Phoenix won the other jumpers A.
Natalie let Kiki out of retirement for a final run in jumpers A, and with a 3rd place ribbon proved that she’s still got it.
Nicole and Chill won a novice.
Rachael and Denver had a win in jumpers C and a clear in starters.
Ella and Maple had a win in starters.
After a full day of judging, Stephanie ran Winnie for a 3rd place in both intermediate and senior.
Keri and Classic got 2nd place in intermediate
Lynne’s young dog Amethyst had her first win and ribbon in elementary A.
Helen T and Moss got 2nd in jumpers C and 3rd in starters.
Helen W had a 3rd in novice and jumpers B; and a clear in intermediate with Akela. She also cleared both Novices, one being 3rd place, with Wendy.
Kim and Pan had a 3rd in intermediate and a 4th in senior. Kim and Polo got 2nd in starters.
Brenda had a clear in jumpers b with Jack and a second place in novice. Brenda also got 4th in jumpers C with Murphy.
Kyla and Buddy got 2nd in both elementaries in their first weekend of competing.
Dianne and Fozzie got 4th in starters.
Leni and Bright got 3rd in intermediate
Colette had a clear in jumpers c with Yogi.
Celia and Lucky got 3rd in jumpers B.
Rochelle and Heidi had a 3rd in elementary b and some great nearly runs.
Down in Upper Hutt, Alice, our youngest member, won JDT beginners with Emma’s dog Gaia.
In Whangarei, Kim and Polo won a jumpers C and had a clear on starters. Kim and Pan went clear in an intermediate, a jumpers A and a senior
Nicole and Freya got 3rd in both novices. Janette and Skye went clear in both novices and a jumpers c.
And finally, in Fielding, Keri and Dance won an intermediate and a senior.
