The WEBB Method - Whole Energy Body Balance is a combination of hands-on bodywork - release & mobilisation of core body structures - craniosacral and subtle energy balancing. It addresses and interacts with the entire physical body and energy systems of animals and people. On a physical level, it relieves tension in the neuro-fascial network, and this has a positive flow-on effect for the entire body. This method also has profound effects on mental and emotional issues, releasing and integrating trapped layers of trauma and post-traumatic stress. Many people are aware of the way we tense our muscles in relation to stress, and animals are no different. Neck and back pain is a common issue, as is neuro-fascial pain, also known as pain of the connective tissues. It can bring significant improvements to dogs with even severe anxiety- e.g. separation anxiety, reactivity, phobias, over arousal and generally unsettled etc. It helps them learn to relax, be calm and able to engage appropriately. The benefits for your dog are life changing, and even small changes can have a big impact… ease of restriction and pain, accelerated injury and surgery recovery, healthy fluid movement, more relaxed and calm, improved function and flexibility, wellbeing and joy. Hi dog lovers 😃🐾 It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, so a longer read. This year seems to have accelerated through the last 6 months, and especially the last few! I have been busy looking after your four legged lovelies, working with a variety of issues, but notable have been the number of dogs experiencing and exhibiting behaviours not usual for them. For example, nervous, anxious arousal, sudden guarding/fixation and reactivity issues showing up in usually happy and balanced dogs.
It goes without saying that life can be quite stressful for us, and the last few years have certainly been testament to that. Staying on an even keel at times can be a bit of a balancing act, and our stress impacts our canine family members quite resoundingly, as they are tuned into our energy 24/7.
They are a mirror for our behaviour/energy, and how we are expressing that. If they are ‘out of sorts’, they can be letting us know that this is the energy we are expressing. If we are not centered and balanced, they can become confused about how they should respond to us…and if we are not sending the appropriate signals they can become stressed and reactive in certain situations.
Yes, there can certainly be other factors involved, but if they are medically, physically and emotionally sound, then it can be helpful to look at how we are standing in our energy and frequency, and how this might be impacting them.
Working with the nervous system, fascia and craniosacral release is brilliant for rebalancing and settling dogs. I can also teach you a somatic relaxation technique that you can do for your dog,,,they will love it! 🥰
I will often do a therapeutic bodywork/healing session for the dog and their human…this helps to re-balance and enhance the connection between you both, recalibrating your energetic signatures to align. A gentle and liberating experience, and gift for you both.
It’s easy to love your dog…don’t forget to love yourself…your dog does…and they are very discerning!💚🐾😉

Hi dog lovers, 🐕

All this rain reminds me of one of the pitfalls that can be detrimental to your dog's health.
Have you considered that roads and traffic areas are liberally spread with diesel and petrol residue. Not so bad when the road is dry, but in the wet, your dog is absorbing these chemicals and toxins through their pads, and it's splashing onto their coats. And of course, that hard to resist quick drink from a puddle. Even if we dry our dogs off before going inside, it's no guarantee we clean everything. As well as absorption through the pads, they can ingest this when they clean themselves.
Toxins such as these can affect the nervous system, brain and other systems in the body, through regular and prolonged exposure.
Consider adding this to your routine... a foot wash with epsom salts or baking soda, removing any slick.
A metal detox every so often is helpful also, as they are inhaling petrol and diesel fumes from vehicles. Contact me for details.

Wishing you much fun with your happy, healthy hounds 🐾💚

One of my favourite clients recently came back for a few sessions after a playtime run in with a much bigger dog.
She's a really healthy, fit dog... SO well looked after by her humans, but has some old injuries that flare up when she overdoes the rough and tumble...or doesn't see it coming! 😕
She needed a release of lumbar and pelvis, showing as a restricted gait in her back end, and limping on her back right leg.
After observing her gait, assessing the body, and mapping out what needed attention, I discovered the point of impact with her play buddy. She had been rammed in the chest and right shoulder. This was not obvious until I assessed her for chronic silent pain, and then the body clearly told the story. The impact had jarred her whole structure.
After fascial and positional releases on the affected areas, following up with cranio sacral for the nervous system and realignment of the body as a whole, she totally zonked out 😌🧡
Assessing for what is going on in the body is important, so that injuries that are not obvious can be worked on and released along with the more obvious ones. Everything in the body is connected... I look at the overall picture so the therapeutic bodywork session can be optimized for comfort, releasing restriction and restoring function and mobility as quickly as possible 🐕

😀 Enjoying a herbal tea on the job, talking with clients… relaxing AND educational. ☕
🐾 DogWise online Behavioural Consultations are helping people and their dogs not only living outside of the Waikato, but also overseas in other countries.
Clients often travel from other areas, and after behaviour talk, incorporate a Therapeutic Bodywork session for their dogs at the same time. Sometimes, the humans have a session too! With my holistic approach, this is an all-encompassing session of learning, understanding and healing…a helpful combination for success.
Therapeutic bodywork can lessen and eliminate some unwanted behaviours… particularly around pain, tension, discomfort, triggers, anxiety, fearfulness, reactivity, hyperactivity and a host of others. These can impact a dog’s ability to engage and respond in the normal canine way. Releasing different types of tension and restriction means that sometimes bodywork sessions alone can sort out “behaviour” issues. 🤲

It’s great to reach and assist more people, with distance not being a factor … and remote healing is a helpful alternative too. See my website for services - dogwise.co.nz.

🐾 We can all relate to this and I couldn't resist posting it...it reminded me so much of my dogs and the group of sounds they learned very early in life!

"Do you want to..." those magic words, followed by everything from walks to rides to meals to swims to training...yes...training 😀 and multiple other delights. Aren't they wonderfully clever and eager 🐾🌟

🐾Always time for a bit of fun…😊

This little cutie is Digby Brown’s brother from another mother (…and father)

Otis very kindly agreed to exchange some pics for a therapeutic bodywork session…win–win for us both. He’s a full-on livewire, but relaxes easily for his hands-on bodywork, and he especially enjoys the cranio sacral work...good for unwinding him!

Like dogs generally, he soaks it up!

He’s a real softie too, so we had some hugs and Hi 5's. I always love seeing a high activity dog let go and relax…ahh, bliss! 😌🐾

Hi there dog parents...a bit of a long one, but worth the read…
Help your dog stay in shape, and live their best life. 👍

It’s been an interesting last few weeks with a number of canine clients presenting with issues of lameness, stiffness and yelping in pain randomly.

The dogs I have seen had all been vet checked, a top priority with me, and nothing apparent was showing itself.

SO... on assessing for chronic silent pain in the body, this showed muscular strains and spasms were causing pain and restriction in some. In others, the body was showing hip and pelvic injury and misalignment. Some of these were long standing injuries.

Structures in the body that are out of alignment are already compromised and can easily be re-injured… just with everyday dog play and general "whooping it up!"

If your dog is carrying an injury, it changes everything for them…most of us know what that feels like!

After several bodywork sessions, I was able to release the layers of restriction and tension, and realign and adjust areas through the spine and pelvic region. With mobility and flexibility restored, and pain relieved…much happier dogs!

Our 4 legged friends most often don’t allow their vulnerabilities to show.
Regular chronic silent pain assessments (every 4 – 6 months – depending on their level of activity), and therapeutic bodywork sessions for specific issues and maintenance, are so beneficial for your dog’s all round well-being.

I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AND YOU DOG/S! Marguerite 😀🐾

(Not mine...but this is a favourite pic) 💖

🐾 HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! Have a safe and enjoyable Easter Weekend…and this includes our canine friends. ✨

At any time, not just Easter, if you have chocolate and human treats around your home, please don't share these with your dog...no matter how insistent he is! He doesn’t know that chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine. He doesn’t know that ingesting these can cause considerable harm, even death. Dark chocolate is particularly toxic. 🍬

Once chocolate has been ingested, our dogs are in for a rough ride. Please ensure that all of “your” Easter treats are well out of your dog’s reach…this includes discarded wrappers…in or out of the rubbish bin, as well as chocolate, marshmellow, small toys etc…as we know, they are clever and sneaky at sniffing things out. Having an Easter egg hunt? Make sure your dog does not have access to them.

If you think your dog may have eaten something he shouldn’t have, get him to the vet immediately. Look for vomiting, diarrhoea, drinking more than usual, rapid heartbeat and panting, hyperactive, seizing…act quickly.

🐾PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE 🐕 PLEASE BE VIGILANT AND KEEP THEM SAFE 🐾 ... most dogs enjoy a carrot as a treat 🥕

It's so rewarding helping caring dog owners who bring their dogs along to sort out issues that present themselves. You never know what else you might find that can be released to make a dog's life more comfortable.
A client came to have a limp worked on. On assessing this dog, it became apparent that several other areas in the body were showing restriction and pain...this was not apparent to the owner as the dog was not indicating pain in those areas.
Over several sessions, having worked on the limp, which turned out to be a strained muscle, and easing out the other areas of restriction, my client (4 legged) left the clinic with renewed enthusiasm, improved flexibility and motion. Great outcome 😀🐾

DOGS AND HUMANS IN PAWFECT BALANCE

DOG WISE 📷 PAWFECT BALANCE

Hi fellow dog lovers 📷 …are you ready to master the human/canine connection through communication and behaviour that your dog understands?

My passion is to assist you, as dog owners, to understand and connect with your dog in a really meaningful and mindful way. I come with 30 years experience, working with all breeds, educating owners, solving issues with behaviour solutions, training/instruction, healing and rebalancing.

I have a holistic and structured MIND BODY SPIRIT approach to working with dogs and their people. Like us, dogs are energetic beings, and with this in mind, it is important to ensure a dog has a balanced view and experience of life – emotionally, physiologically and mentally. Dogs respond to energy, environment and behaviour, so that frequently makes us, as owners, the catalysts for our dog’s behaviour…and so I like the saying - GOOD VIBE - HAPPY TRIBE. We all want a happy, well behaved and balanced dog….and yes, that’s how they want to be too. Our fourlegged friends are looking for a calm, confident and consistent leader…someone to take charge, instill confidence and respect in them, and direct them appropriately.
