Hanmer Springs Animal Park is set on 6 Hectares, amidst spectacular mountain views, 10 minutes walk from the resort town of Hanmer Springs. We have 2 Hectares of purpose-built farm park where you can relax and wander freely among our animals in a clean and peaceful setting. All year round fun, entertainment and activities — Hanmer Springs Animal Park is an amazing children’s play area suitable for

young and old. Tea, coffee, light lunch and snacks are available; come on down and bring your own picnic while the kids play. The park has wheelchair access and is a very enjoyable experience for animal lovers of all ages from toddlers to the elderly. Bookings are advised for groups larger than 10.

It’s more of an inside day for everyone but we are open today! We have umbrellas and the rain is set to lessen. If you get rained off or it doesn’t work you’re welcome to return another day in the long weekend. The weather for tomorrow looks great! Happy Labour weekend. The rain is great for growing grass. 😀

Local Artist John Fraser judging the wonderful entries in the Animal Park Winter Festival colouring competition.
It was a very difficult job for him. We ended up splitting the 6-11 year category into 6-8 years and 9-11 years.
Our 5 winners will be contacted shortly and we will post a photo of their work.

We have one fabulous adult entry if any parents want a go. We’ll give an annual pass to the winning adult entry.

We loved hosting Manuka Skies last night. These clear winter nights are amazing for seeing the stars ⭐️.

Wow! What a night. We were blown away by the amount of people keen to see a beautiful starry night. A huge thanks for coming along.
