Baby was keeping dry but the farm is rather we under foot. We hope to open on Wednesday 12th and Thursday the 13th July if dry enough. We won’t be open for the public holiday weekend (Matariki).

Funky farm update
So after a lot of messages I thought I should update you all.
Wow what a crazy week.
Last Monday I was in Hospital for an operation. We knew that we had a Cyclone in our path that wouldn’t be good but we never expected it to be like this, nor that I would feel so helpless. As we woke Tuesday Morning we thought we were all ok. My surgeon whom was checking on me was contacted to evacuate Pakowhai area whom was unable to get home. Their homes are all destroyed. As I lay there in hospital that night I had no idea that the farm was being evacuated also. My Husband was trying to swim and guide animals out of their areas to higher ground . Most of the animals were able to be saved but due to the speed of everything happening we weren’t unscathed. There’s way more to the story but wanted to say big thanks to the guys from Advanced Plumbing, (Duncan & Holly, Mike, Scotty Gibb that came in to help Mark and risking their own lives to help.
Trish and Holly for assisting with lizards as we still had no power until today to heat their enclosures .
Big Thanks to team Grundy for feeding all the animals. And my beautiful Jessie and Michael for picking up all animal food and doing other things to help out.
We have amazing Friends and family whom have been able to help but some have been cut off from the rest of the world with no communication.
I feel very thankful to have so many wonderful people around us. 🥰🥰❤️

Funky farm update

Lowchen puppies

They are all very similar, All love cuddles, lovely natured like parents. Currently being toilet trained and all doing awesome. Will come when they are called they have had a lot of love and attention put into them.

When they are out they are very active running around playing with their toys but as soon as you pick them up they will cuddle in.

All puppies have been vet checked, had their first vaccination and are up to date with worm treatment.

These puppies are from the two small dogs (Oakley and Ohley) who you may have seen on your farm visits, that love to come over for cuddles and hang out in the entrance building with us.

They are ready to go to their new homes anytime from this week (Just before Christmas)

Please no time wasters, puppy viewings must be done by appointment due to the puppies living off site.

(The farm is still currently closed, we will have updates for everyone at the start of next year, all active memberships are currently on hold while we are closed)

Awesome place for a luxury getaway with family, friends or a romantic stay. Amazing modern property with endless amenities and a short trip to all the local wineries and cafes.
we stayed there for a weekend with a group of friends and enjoyed it so much we did not want to leave. Highly recommend anyone wanting a fantastic property away from hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy what Hawkes Bay has to offer.

Funky Farm/Property is FOR SALE

After Starting the Toy Library in 2003 incorporating the petting zoo outgrowing our original spot in Lyndhurst road and setting up again at our current location it has come time for us to say goodbye and allow someone else to take over and continue the petting zoo.

The Funky Farm petting zoo and toy hire is now up for sale along with the property we are set up on. This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who has had the dream of owning a farm. Funky farm is fully established and ready for someone to come in and take over at the end of July.

The Petting zoo could potentially be sold separately and moved to another destination this will all depend on if the new owners of the property want to take on this amazing opportunity or if someone would like to purchase the farm itself and move it to another destination.

**Urgent Update please read**

The farm and toy hire will be closed Wednesday and Thursday this week due to not having enough staff because of COVID-19 and will be closed Friday Saturday Sunday for Easter weekend.

Farm closed from Wednesday 13th - Sunday 17th, we will reopen Wednesday 20th of April.

We apologies for the inconvenience but we will be up and running again like normal on the 20th of April.

Vaccine passes are NOT required for entry.
