We have are excited to announce some different animals available for adoption here in Hastings. Unfortunately we do not know a lot about the history of these geese but please email [email protected] if you are interested in adopting.
REMINDER: Please also attach photos of the property or area/s these Geese will be living! Adoption fee is $10 per Goose at this time, they will need to be adopted in pairs or more!!

Kitten season is well underway, and SPCA Centres are full of adorable residents looking for their ‘fur’ever homes. To help make it easier for prospective adopters to find their purrfect companions and lighten the season’s burden on shelter capacity, SPCA Centres nationwide will be offering walk-in Caturdays from Saturday, 25 January to Saturday, 15 March.

🙀Do you know what to do if you find a healthy stray cat?🙀

We often get calls from concerned members of the public when they find a roaming cat – but it’s important to remember that cat might not be at risk, or may even be owned.

If you’re unsure, here are some helpful steps:

👉Check with your neighbours. Some cats like to wander, and may have gone a little too far!
👉Check the ‘lost’ listings on www.animalregister.co.nz/LostPet, and create a ‘found’ listing. This is also the site where we at SPCA will list the animals that come into our care.
👉Get their microchip scanned at your local vet clinic.
👉Use social media – post on local Facebook groups to see if anyone is missing their fur-friend.

Due to the limited space in our Centre, we have to priortise abused, injured and sick animals. However, if you find an abandoned stray that may be at risk, do give our team a call.

⭐ Volunteer Area Coordinators needed for three-day fundraising event! ⭐

Are you passionate about animals? Do you have excellent organisational skills and people skills? We want to hear from you! 🐶🐱

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us with an SPCA fundraising event in May. The fundraiser will take place across Friday 30 May, Saturday 31 May, and Sunday 1 June. As a volunteer Area Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in coordinating teams, managing logistics, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly in your location.

Want to come and meet all of the cute cats at SPCA? Come along to one of our walk-in Caturdays! 🐱🙌

While adopters usually require appointments to meet the animals, for the next eight weeks you can simply drop into our Centres on Saturdays to meet the cats and kittens in our care.

Kitten season is in full swing, with over 1,400 felines needing to find homes over the next eight weeks ❤️ When you choose to adopt from SPCA, you can rest assured knowing they've been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and health-checked, to ensure they have the best start to their new lives.

To speed up the adoption process for you on the walk-in Caturdays, we recommend registering your interest at www.spca.nz/caturday-adoptions - click the 'register to adopt' button on one of their profiles! (Please note appointments are still required for other animal adoptions).

2 years ago today we were hit with Cyclone Gabrielle... As of this month we have had a new addition join our team! As you drive down Maraekakaho Road you may have seen a very large and very blue box, This container is our Emergency Response Set Up. WE ARE PREPARED!

From the 14th Feb to 8th March SPCA Hastings Centre will be a drop off point for the Love Grace Handbag Appeal!! Handbags with Basics, Extras and/or Luxury items in them will help us empower victims of domestic abuse in honor of Grace Millane.

📣 The Power of Microchipping 📣

Beautiful Spencer was found by a concerned family wanting to make sure he didn't have a family out there missing him. With a simple scan of his microchip, we were able to make the happy phone call to reunite him with his family. Unfortunetly his contact number was a number incorrect. But thankful for facebook community we were able to find Spencers family. Bevan and family have been missing Spenser terribly since the cyclone hit hawkes Bay, so it was a very joyful day indeed 🥰

If your beloved pets are not currently microchipped, we urge you to consider getting this done. It's a one-off cost for peace of mind that if they go for a wander and get lost, you can be reunited with a phone call ☎️
It also pays to ensure your correct contact details are correct and updated frequently if details changes.

🐾Not very often are we transporting something other than Animals these days… 🐾
Massive shout out to Jesse from Pak’n’Save Hastings for organising one of the biggest donations of Litter, Cat/Kitten food, Dog/Puppy food and even Chicken pallets/feed we have had in a very long time!! Thank you so much!! We appreciate you endlessly 🐾💙

💙🐾 MEET NIGEL AND MOMO🐾💙 (Nigel has been Adopted)
Nigel and Momo were transferred to us from the lovely Whanganui Centre!! These boys have been in a beautiful socialisation foster home for a few weeks and have come out just wanting more love! The boys 2 brothers (Deigo and Marty Mcfly) have just made a big trip down to the Masterton Centre today where they will come up for adoption very soon!!
