You may have noticed it’s usually Jon in the socials…. He’s happier on a horse than behind the camera and more often than not what he does take is defo not usable!

Step in Cullum…. He took my phone an nabbed a pic of me on my first ride on Trigger…. I’ve not realllllyyy tried to claim too many horses since being a clerk but one Hawera race day hanging behind the gates, Kate Hercock was on Trigger, I was on forty and we stood there chatting like sharing a port on the hunt field. Trigger went on to win that race.

So absolutely chuffed to have him here and be trusted by his owners to give him a life after racing 🦄🦄🦄

Nemo (White Noise) & Bill (Password) ticked off trekking yesterday with Taranaki Hunt! Both were prettyyy well behaved although Nemo thought he still needed to be winning at the front which made it a less social event- don’t know how that little lad could walk out so fast!

Really appreciate days like yesterday where the vibes are fab and the encouragement on green tbs is so appreciated! Will admit my love of trekking has still not blossomed but my love for my tb team mates continues to!

Reminder we have some really cool horses currently available both tb and not as well as some ultra experienced hunters and some greener types… will keep the page updated once we have completed the end of year clean out of all things hoarded and get back on the wagon!

Bit overdue- but a massive thank you to those who offered some feedback that came to the 'Beyond the Track' education evening. One of my handy little hints was mentioned a couple of times....

Likening changing schools or jobs to a tb changing homes and careers.... you know how to do your job or go to class, but the routine is completely different. You have to find your way in a new environment and although you know what you are doing it can all be really nerve wracking doing it in a new place in a new way.

A horse coming straight of the track, knows how to walk, trot, canter; knows how to wear a saddle and bridle but what we are now asking them to do it do it in a different way, in a different environment, with different equipment and different humans.

It takes time for us to get used to a new job or school and to feel comfortable and confident- it is exactly the same for the horses.

Lovely nailed another outing today - indoor jumping!

Massive thanks to the lovely ladies who put on tonight’s twilight at Hawera indoor, we took 3 of the thoroughbreds in.

Fair to say the 2 bays jumped with a bit more ping - and quality of videographer also superior than the grey! Nemo needs to work on his jumping technique and Jon needs to work on his videoing skills… practice makes perfect!

Standing side by side in truck- Lovely is slightly bigger than Dallas - she’s a very big bold gal!

Right team we have 3 fab bays looking for homes!

Dallas has come home due to a very unexpected change of circumstances at his new home. He’s had a whirl around the arena today and was his usual wonderful self!

Lovely has had her time here for retrained and has been a star pupil! She’d be an amazing summer project for an eager and competent teen to produce further or someone ready to put the mileage into a first year Hunter contender!

Dart HL is far too fancy to be sitting in the paddock waiting for me to suddenly form the talent she deserves to produce here and unfortunately on the too petite size for Jon to produce.
