🐾 **Adorable Te Kowhai ready for a Loving Home!** 🐾

Meet our lovely 5-month-old Te Kohia ready to steal your heart and fill your home with love! She's been vaccinated, desexed, and cared for with up-to-date flea and worming treatments.

This precious girl may be a bit shy and unsure at first, understandable given her rough start, but once she feels safe and loved, she blossoms into an absolute sweetheart. Her gentle nature and affectionate personality will melt away any initial hesitation.

We're looking for a caring individual or family to provide her with the forever home she deserves. The adoption fee of $200 helps cover some of her expenses and ensures she goes to a committed and responsible home. Plus, she'll come with her vaccination booklet, so you can keep her health on trackπŸ‘πŸ’•

🐾 **Lost Kitten Alert!** 🐾

Last week, a precious 12-week-old black and white kitten was discovered in the back storeroom at New World Te Kauwhata. πŸͺ We've lovingly taken her in, ensuring she's been properly wormed and treated for fleas, and most importantly, showered her with heaps of love and care! ❀️

But here's the thing: We believe every fur baby deserves to be with their rightful family. If you suspect this adorable little fluff ball might be yours, please reach out to us ASAP by pming us. Alternatively, if no one claims her soon, she'll be looking for her forever home through adoption 🏑🐱

πŸΎπŸ’œADOPTED **Found: Beautiful Female Torti in Need of a Forever Home** πŸ’œπŸΎ

This lovely girl was found scared and a bit underweight. Despite efforts to locate her owners, no one came forward. Thankfully, she's now safe in our care after being taken in by the vets. She will be held for 7 days, and then we'll begin accepting adoption inquiries once she's been desexed. Let's find her the loving home she deserves!

πŸ™πŸŒŸThank you to everyone who supported Jordan and Jessica at their Incredible bake sale last weekend πŸŒŸπŸ™

We wanted to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude to Jordon for your remarkable contribution to our cause. Your bake sale at Ohinewai School was not only a delightful event but also an incredible act of kindness that has left a lasting impact on our organization.

The effort and dedication you and your mum Jessica both poured into organizing this charity event did not go unnoticed. Jordan, your initiative and determination to make a difference are truly inspiring. Thanks to your guys hard work, enthusiasm, and baking skills, you managed to raise a whopping $233 for Fostered Paws. This generous donation will go a long way in helping us cover veterinary bills for desexing etc.
We are also incredibly touched by the support and encouragement from the entire family. Jessica, your guidance and support undoubtedly played a significant role in making this event a success.

And let's not forget about those famous cupcakes and cookies! We've heard nothing but rave reviews about your delicious treats, and we couldn't agree more. Every bite was not only a delight to the taste buds but also a symbol of the love and generosity that went into making them.

Jordan, you are absolutely amazing, and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. Your selflessness and dedication to helping animals in need are truly commendable, and we are incredibly grateful to have you as a supporter of Fostered Paws.

🐾 **Apology for Quietness**

I wanted to take a moment to apologize for my recent quietness on this page. As many of you know, the rescue has been incredibly busy lately with an overwhelming number of cats and kittens in need of help. Every spare moment has been dedicated to their care and finding them loving homes.

Despite the busyness, I want to assure you that I'm doing my best to keep everyone updated on available cats and kittens. However, with the constant influx of Kittens needing assistance, my time has been stretched thin.

But please know that even amidst the chaos, I always make time for viewings and ensuring these precious animals find the perfect homes.
The demand doesn't seem to be slowing down, with 11 new rescues taken in just this weekend alone, still waiting on one more, starting from 2x 3 weeks old.

Your support means the world to us, and we're immensely grateful for your understanding and patience during this busy time. Together, we'll continue to make a difference in the lives of these furry friends.

Thank you for your continued support and compassion.
As much as we hate asking we are always having to reply on doantions for Worming, fleaing, vet bills, food, so if you would like to donate a couple of bucks it would be much appreciated

They Taped her up in a box and threw her under the bridge in this extreme heat 😭

Recently, an upsetting incident unfolded under the Rangiriri bridge where a rabbit was found abandoned in a taped-up box during scorching heat. Thanks to the compassion of a man and his dog, the rabbit was discovered, skinny and dehydrated, narrowly escaping a tragic fate.
She had ripped a hole at the right top, big enough to put her head through just so she could breath.

Dumping a rabbit in such conditions is not only heartless but also poses a severe threat to the animal's well-being. Rabbits are highly sensitive creatures, particularly vulnerable to heat stress. The act of leaving one confined in a box amid sweltering temperatures is an act of cruelty that could have easily resulted in the rabbit's demise.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the man and his dog who stumbled upon the distressed rabbit. Their timely intervention saved a life that might have otherwise been lost due to human negligence.

Remember, rabbits are not disposable pets; they deserve love, care, and respect. If you find yourself unable to care for a rabbit, reach out to local rescue organizations for assistance rather than resorting to inhumane actions.

We had a ph call from Vetora Te Awamutu asking if we had room to take 4 feral kittens that had been found.
The veterinarians displayed compassion by going out of their way to rescue the feral kittens brought into their care. Their dedication extended beyond medical attention; they tirelessly sought a suitable rescue for the kittens. The commitment of these vets was truly commendable, ensuring the well-being of the vulnerable animals. Also supplying them food and worming tablets, thanks Vetora.
Additionally, immense gratitude goes to Jo Henry who facilitated the final leg of the journey, transporting the kittens us. Her generosity and willingness to contribute to their welfare exemplify the power of a community coming together for the well-being of our furry friends, thanks Jo 🐾

Two days before Christmas we were asked to take two little wild kittens.

The SPCA in Te Rapa told them they were too healthy to take in after their call center in Auckland were the ones who told them to go and trap them and they'd take the kittens. They then told them that day when they went in with the kittens that their only two options (seeing as they were going away at Christmas and couldn't keep them) were to euthanize them or rerelease them in the wild which just did not sit right with them and it shouldn't, please never re-release back into the wild πŸ™„ the poor animal has to defend for itself and will also keep breeding continuing the cycle of breeding, increasing the population making it harder for all the work us rescues are trying to preventπŸ™ˆ

These little darlings have had a huge adjustment in their lifes and are slowly accepting change one step at a time shown with love n kindness, we will get there with them πŸ₯°πŸΎ

We were heartbroken to hear about three adorable 4-week-old kittens who were dumped at Waingora Pub. Thankfully, a lovely lady named Tracey found them and brought them in to us πŸ™

Tracey not only rescued these tiny furballs but also showed immense kindness by making a $50 donation to support their care, which has already gone directly towards the kittens' flea n worming treatment, plus extra treaments for some others in.

We have plenty of beautiful kittens in, we can always arrange a meet and greet in Huntly if Ohinewai is not suitable.

Let's come together as a community and ensure these kittens have a second chance at a happy and healthy life. Your support means the world to them! πŸ±πŸ’•

On 6th December 23, an abandoned kitten was discovered and handed in to us.
The incident emphasize the importance of responsible pet ownership.

The incident occurred on East mine Road Huntly, where I was approached by a concerned individual who had found a small kitten dumped on the road. The kitten appeared to be in distress, displaying signs of hunger and fear. It was evident that the poor creature had been left to fend for itself in an inhospitable environment.

Upon receiving the abandoned kitten, immediate action was taken to ensure its well-being. The first step involved assessing the kitten's condition, checking for any visible signs of injury or illness. Then treated with Flea and worming treatment. So important.

We cannot preach the importance of Responsible Pet Ownership:
This incident underscores the critical need for responsible pet ownership. Abandoning animals not only puts their lives at risk but also contributes to issues such as overpopulation and stray animal problems. Pet owners should prioritize the well-being of their pets, ensuring they are provided with adequate care, nutrition, and a safe living environment.

The rescue of the abandoned kitten highlights the consequences of irresponsible actions. It serves as a reminder that compassion and responsibility are essential components of caring for animals. By raising awareness and implementing measures to prevent such incidents, we can work towards creating a safer and more humane environment for our furry companions.

Attention, tabby enthusiasts! Join our mission to find loving homes for adorable kittens! 😻

After being in isolation for so long these beauty's have teamed up together now looking like they've come from the same litter 😁
We actually have two litters here.
Thank you to Kat from Kopu Rescue for picking the first litter of 4 from Thames at such short notice until we could get down to pick them up, we really appreciated it.

2nd litter Lisa recieved a call from a lovely elderly lady at the Kimihia Rest Home in Hunly needing 3 kittens and a mumma needing to be caught.

These vibrant kittens are in excellent health and will soon be ready for adoption. Their playful energy and good condition make them delightful companions for loving homes🐾

06/12/2023

A distressing incident came to our attention when three sick kittens were discovered abandoned in a box near the Taupiri railway. These defenseless kittens were left to endure suffering and neglect.

The kittens were visibly unwell, Our vet diagnosed them with catflu, along with flea and worm burdened.

They are currently receiving around-the-clock care, including proper nutrition, medication, and a warm and comfortable environment. We are committed to ensuring their recovery and rehabilitation, with the ultimate goal of finding loving and permanent homes for each of them.

We urge anyone with information regarding the abandonment of these kittens to come forward and assist in identifying those responsible. Abandoning animals is not only morally reprehensible but also illegal, and we will collaborate with local authorities to pursue appropriate legal actions.

This incident highlights the ongoing need for public awareness and education regarding responsible pet ownership. We encourage community members to report any suspicious behavior related to animal welfare, as timely intervention can save lives and prevent unnecessary suffering.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Hughes Whanau who reached out for hep, as their prompt action played a crucial role in rescuing these innocent lives. That rain was very heavy and we were only so grateful those kittens were here safe and not out there suffering more!

Kia ora Fostered Paws Whanau 😊

We have recieved in a mumma cat and 3 of her babies..

Now bit of a background story of how they came into care.. a friend of mine who was asked to take on a pup as the owner could no longer have him was also asked if she could take this mumma and her 3 kittens.. as of course she couldnt say no and picked them up when she picked the pup up.

Now this pup was given away along with other siblings and my friend managed to get the owner to surrender 5 pups to her. All going well she was asked to take this pup.. this pup is a sibling to the 5 she got.. she also was asked this week to take another pup and unfortunatly this pup is also a sibling to the 5 she got..

Mumma was given to her from a lady in Huntly whom was homing kittens for free on the agreement they would be desexed. Well this didnt happen and the mumma cat got pregnant..

Now this is a big no no for us and is so important to 'desex' your animals. Cus not only are we recieving 2 pups that shouldnt have been given away we now have a mumma with 3 kittens in care all because this person thought giving her away for free she would be desexed. We as rescues are tired of cleaning up peoples messes and trying to educate people in why its so important to desex. If this certain person had just handed over to a rescue we wouldnt have 3 more kittens, plus mumma to try and find a home for πŸ˜”

πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈThank you Claire for being a heroπŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈ

Apparently a woman was giving kittens away in Te Kauwhata and three teenage girls ended up with one (saying she was 9w old but seemed younger) came up to Claire on Monday saying they couldn’t keep her and they’d have to leave her on the side of the road.
Claire couldn’t let that happen as she was so small and shaken already
Took her in, she was riddled with fleas. Claire done what they could Monday night then got her the vets Tuesday. Her strength since Monday has been amazing thanks to Claire and her family πŸ¦Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ!
They put their heart and soul into this wee soul inriching her with everything she needed, she even came with ongoing Royal canine mother and kitten food to help keep her strong, worming tablet, her new scratching post, and much more.
So well loved in such a very short time.

Thank you Claire and family, you guys are absolutely amazing people, best of luck for the future πŸ’œπŸΎ
