I spent the afternoon searching around the area went missing from today with no luck.

Research has shown that cats do not go far when they are displaced. If they are frightened and normally indoor cats, they may only go up to 3 houses away. Outdoor cats who are frightened may go up to about ten houses away. More gregarious outdoor cats may go up to 17 houses.

Frightened cats will hide and may not answer when called even if they recognize your voice. So if you live in the Grasmere area we would really appreciateyou searchingyour property, especially under decks or houses or in thick shrubs etc. Thank you.

How you can help:

Please share posts on Bluey and encourageyou friendsto share too. Thanks. The more people that know he is missing the better chance we have of getting him back.

Research has shown that cats are often found within 17 houses from their home. If you live close to Ross Street/Galway Street area please keep an eye out for Bluey. Thanks.

If you know someone who lives in this area please ask them to keep an eye out too. Thanks.

Please let us know if you see a cat that you think could be Bluey. (He is not the cat that lives in Queens Park by the winter gardens).

Bluey could be trying to find his way back to Clyde. If you know someone between lnvercargill and Clyde please let them know about Bluey. Thanks.

What have we done to find Bluey so far:

We have searched the property where Bluey disappeared from and door knocked and searched surrounding properties where the occupants were home and gave us permission to search.

Well have made flyers and put them in mailboxes for about three blocks from where Bluey disappeared.

We have put posters up around the area and asked local shops to put them in their windows.

We have contacted local rescues in Invercargill and posted on their page.

We have had two two advertisements in the Southland Express. (We chose the Express because it goes to every household so we could get wider coverage).

We have had three responses from our advertisements but unfortunately each time it was not Bluey when we got there. 😞

I started this page in the hope of getting the message out there.

Background information:
We were devastated when a family member was told no more could be done for her after an ovarian cancer diagnosis and treatment. Her main concern was what would happen to her animals.
Shirley died on 15th May. A friend who had been looking after her dog during hospital visits etc. took Nellie in.
We brought Bluey back to Invercargill to live with a family member. He did not settle well and two months later, on 20th July, he disappeared out the cat door never to be seen again. We would really like to find him and try to settle him with another family member.

Bluey is still missing from Grasmere, Galway Street/Ross Street area since July 20th. Please keep an eye out for him. His owner passed away recently and we promised to look after him for her so it is important that we find him. We desperately need to know he is safe. He could be making his way back to Clyde. Thanks.
