As the weather begins to warm up, fleas are out and about.
Here are a few tips to help avoid or remove a flea infestation in
your home:
✅ Vacuum floors, carpet, rugs, and your pet’s bed frequently
✅Wash your personal bedding and your pet’s bedding, including
blankets in hot water greater than 60 degrees. If your pet’s
bedding is too large to wash, place the bed in direct UV sunlight to
kill flea eggs
✅ Trim your dog’s fur short, as it gives the fleas fewer hiding
places and helps identify itchy spots
✅ Use a flea and tick protection treatment year-round to reduce
the risk of an infestation.
It can take on average 8 weeks or sometimes longer to clear a flea
infestation, so prevention is always better than cure.

Fleas love the warm, heated environments in our homes during
winter.
