1st time with the training saddle on. Both girls were really good .
If you see your Dam doing this, it looks like muma love but she was telling me something is wrong. 12 hours later he was down and lifeless. Mum squirting out milk as she was so full. I milked mum and gave him two small Feeds 10 mins apart. Got him to the vets, he had perked up a bit by then.
Vet diagnosed mild pneumonia. Vit D, B, antibiotics and antiflamitory . Back with mum, on his feet and had a big drink from mum. π€π Hope he's going to be ok.
Play time β€οΈ. 3 girls, 2yr old, 1yr old, 1mnth old.
The boys have finished their breeding time with my girls for this season. Each boy had two girls each, so potentially 8 cria at the end of this year or begining of next year.
So Estefano, Barney, Oscar and Primo are available for matings.... PM me if you're interested.
One yr old Marty started doing zoomies, shortly followed by 1 week old Aubrey, then everyone joined in π€£π€£π¦π¦
Not an easy morning. Paloma was in labor. After half an hour watching her I felt something wasn't right. Took me another hour to coax her into the catch area to catch her !
She let me have a feal inside. As far as I could tell, baby was in a cushed position with it's head tucked down between it's legs. I tried to manouver it's head but after a bit, decided it was beyond my capabilities. I called the vet, we are a bit off the beaten track so it took a little while for her to get here ( plus she'd never been here before). She confirmed the position of the cria and that it was already dead π
Rebecca worked hart to get it in the correct position and get it out, a little girl.
Paloma seemed relieved to have it out. She had a painkiller shot, antibiotics and oxytocin to remove the placenta, which was all in one piece. Mum is ok, no damage. Just my nerves damaged. Thank you so much Rebecca from kaikoura Vets.
Moved the girls, they are very excited, tasty grass π
