10 months on in INVERCARGILL . . .

Please read this post and the comment about why there is a shortage of shavings. Very interesting!

We have a new alternative to woodshavings in stock.
Airlyte is a recycled cardboard product suitable for animal bedding, compost and composting toilets.
The word on the street is that the woodshavings have been snavelled nation wide by the biggest milk producer to use in their big furnaces.
So, we now have compressed bales of Airlyte for $36.
I've made up a few sacks if you want to try it out $10/sack

Tarabella finds a NEW Bed.
ONE contented Cat!

Airlyte has been used for ‘Cat litter’ by some client's cats. Last night I couldn’t find my cat until something caught my eye. Tarabella had made the partly used bale of Airlyte as a bed.

She knows comfort when she sees it.

Bunny Bathrooms

Apart from eating their first morning's droppings, rabbits are extremely clean animals and like to have their own 'bunny bathrooms' - dedicated areas in their hutch for sleeping, eating and toileting.

Rabbits are always wary of possible predators, so if their litter tray is placed where they don't feel safe, they won't use it – so consider carefully where you place their litter tray.
When changing bedding introduce it slowly so it doesn’t stress them.
