Our vet nurse Sal is currently fostering these 3 little cuties for the past 7 weeks, since they were 3-4 weeks old. They are now approximately 10-11 weeks old & ready to find their forever homes. They are being desexed & microchipped in the next week or so, have started their vaccinations & are up to date with flea & worm treatment. โค๐Ÿถ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพ

Jaxx (brown & white with black nose)is the chill dude among the 3 pups, confident & calm - nothing fazes him.
Jet (black & white) wants to be the centre of attention & is curious about everything.
Judo (brown & white with brown nose) is the slightly shyer of the 3, but loves an adventure all the same.

As these 3 are still very young, they are not quite ready to be left alone all day & would benefit from the possibility of going to work or a home where someone can be around for part of the day. They require ongoing training & plenty of patience & love as every moment of every day is currently a learning opportunity for them.

They all love people & will happily have cuddles & fall asleep on your lap. They will each need to learn to be alone as they have not had to do that very much, but we are working on that - along with toilet training, lead walking & basic manners.

They love the 4 adult dogs they currently live with & are learning a lot from them. They are still a bit boisterous with the cats, but training will help with that. They have not been around young children yet. ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿง’

If you know anyone who is looking for a pup, please share this with them - they can contact Sal through the clinic or they can contact SPCA Far North who will organise any adoption.

Just a reminder to keep your pets safe over the festive period, as there can be things about that you/they don't normally have around & they might be curious about. Shut items away in cupboards or on high shelves, & if needed pop your pet into another room to restrict access.
And if you have guests coming to visit, please make sure you have somewhere quiet & safe your pets can retreat to when needed as even the most confident animals can find they need a break from all the excitement ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„

Sorry things have been so quiet on the social media front, but we have had some changes happening at the clinic. We were really sorry to farewell Sinead & Annameike who have moved on to new things and we wish them good luck with their future endeavours. We are excited to have recruited 2 new nurses.

๐Ÿพ Meet Our New Veterinary Nurses ๐Ÿพ
Weโ€™re so excited to welcome two fantastic veterinary nurses to our teamโ€”Niki and Sal! With a wealth of experience and a passion for pets of all shapes and sizes, these two are ready to make tails wag and whiskers twitch!

๐Ÿถ Niki originates from the UK, where her veterinary journey began over 20 years ago, but now calls NZ very much her home. With her thorough approach and deep knowledge, sheโ€™s a pro at making every pet feel at ease (treats and pats included!). Niki has a special interest in canine behavior and loves helping owners address their dogsโ€™ quirks and challenges. Sheโ€™s also a massive fan of tea, & really likes chocolate, friendly cats, exotic species, and a good laugh. Outside of work, Niki can often be found enjoying the sunshine at the beach, running her kids around, or walking and training her two dogs.

๐Ÿฑ Sal brings years of experience from Auckland and now calls Kaeo home. Known for her โ€œcat wranglingโ€ skills and expertise in wild and wily felines, Sal has a passion for rescue work, having spent time working in the veterinary hospital at SPCA Auckland and has a special interest in trainingโ€”particularly puppies. Sheโ€™s a lover of tea, coffee, good food, and a great laugh, and sheโ€™s traded the bustle of city life for adventures exploring the stunning New Zealand countryside with her four dogs. When itโ€™s too rainy to roam, youโ€™ll find her crafting toys for rescue centers or getting creative at home.

Niki and Sal are eager to meet all the wonderful pets and pet parents in our community. Stop by, say hi, and let them show you why weโ€™re so lucky to have them on board! Sal & Niki will be sharing more from the clinic as the weeks & months go by.๐Ÿพ
