ππ» Pets and Care are celebrating because... it's Vet Nurse awareness week! ππ»
We find that people often donβt know what being a vet nurse entails and so we thought we would use this special week to share with you some of our duties all while we're being a steady supply of treats and cuddles for your pet πΆππ±
We are qualified and experienced in...
- Fielding enquiries in person and over the phone.
- Managing the clinics stock, ordering, receiving, stocktaking etc.
- Maintaining reception, surgery and hospital cleanliness to high standard.
- Conducting nurse consults for nutrition, weight loss, oral hygiene, post op care/wound management, nail trims.
-Preparing patients for surgeries/procedures, including admitting, collecting blood and or urine samples for testing, placing IV catheters, administering medications, providing fluid therapy, taking xrays.
- Ensuring all equipment/instruments and PPE are ready for procedures and surgeries ie. anaesthetic machines, fluid pumps, surgical kits, xray machines etc.
- Monitoring anaesthetics and recoveries.
- Caring for all hospitalised patients by consoling, walking, toileting, feeding, provide clean and cosy bedding.
- Triaging emergencies and assisting with such. This includes giving CPR.
- Grief support.
