Retired working Border Collie: I am looking for a new home for Please. She is 12 yrs old and neutered. She has mainly worked sheep and had some moderate success in dog trialing when she was young, but she is too powerful for trialing. She is still very fit and likes to work, so she needs lots of exercise.
She has been an inside dog all her live and has never been in a kennel. She is not good with cats but very good with children.
No time wasters, please.

URGENTLY NEEDED:
I am looking for a loving foster home for a 12 yr old heading dog. She has good manners and is well behaved but is not good with cats, but loves children. She usually gets on well with other dogs. If you can take this dog for a week or so that wld be of great help.
If you generally are willing to care for a retired or unwilling working dog (usually collies or huntaways) please contact me.
Working dogs are usually extremely well mannered and make lovely companions. They just want to be loved and cared for and want to enjoy their retirement with easy walks and some good food.

Meet York. He is a very fit 10 yrs old Huntaway and he is looking for a new forever home. His owner works on a big farm and it is getting too much for the lovely boy, but he is fit enough to work on a smaller flatter block. He works both cattle and sheep. York is a very friendly and trusting dog and never has had any bad handling. Originally from the Hawks Bay he pleased his owner with his good working attitude and friendliness in the same time. As all well educated huntaways York only barks on command and stops when told so, therefore there is no unwanted barking problems. York is good with all stock including chickens and cats. As you can see he LOOOVES children

Update on Kate: Kate is very happy with her new owners and 2 lovely new huntaway friends. They play together but also work together on the dairy farm, but not too hard so they have enough time to have some fun time

Update on Kate: she has found her new forever home. Since she's quite a fit 9 year old she is helping on a small dairy farm and has 2 new huntaway friends. I hope I'll keep her followers updated with new adventures in her new home 🥰

This is Kate, one of Jill’s old workmates. She is 9 yrs old, worked hard all her life and is now looking for a forever loving retirement home. She’s a huntaway but she has a pathetic bark and only speaks on command, therefore excessive barking won't be a problem- she’s very well trained and is still fit enough to do small jobs. She would be perfect on a small lifestyle block with a few cattle or sheep. She also is neutered.
Only available for the 'bestest' home

Kerikeri SPCA has a failed working dog (male, desexed) to rehome. Approx. 1 year old. His history is unknown but he must have had a rough time, he's very timid. He's a really sweet boy and just wants love - once he trusts

I wld like to give an overview of all the dogs I have re-homed before I was on FB
It started with Bindi. A friend of mine bought - or better rescued her at the sales. She soon found a loving home in the BOI
The 2nd dog I re-homed was a 2 yr unwilling hungtaway - Brindle. She found a beautiful home in Eketahuna with the help of NZ Retired Working Dogs NZ Charitable Trust
The next dog was Baer, also unwilling for his owner but he became the mainstay working dog of a shepherd working on a big farm on the SI
Then came was Dell - an absolute sweetheart. She was retired and the owner wanted to shoot her. So she was re-homed to the most beautiful, loving home in the BOI The pic below shows Dell in her new home.

This is Jill. She's a 10 yr old NZ Heading Dog and has worked hard all her life. She now is looking for a well deserved and forever retirement home. She is very sweet, likes food and is good with kids and other dogs. She has light arthritis but is still very happy to move around. Otherwise she's a healthy older dog. Only serious enquires please.
