I am a qualified and experienced veterinary nurse offering a pet care service to the Kerikeri & Waipapa area. I provide home visits for:- pet minding, nail trims, dog walking and feline grooming. I have worked in vet clinics for over thirty years in the Auckland area. Two of those clinics were feline only vet clinics. I have also managed three catteries that were attached to the vet clinics I wor

ked at. In Auckland and Helensville where I lived for most of my life, I have run a pet minding and cat grooming service. For many years, I've enjoyed owning and breeding Boxer dogs. My second Boxer child's name was "Scarlet Runner," who I have named my business after. I have a genuine love of animals and enjoy working with them every day.

-The French Bulldog-

They're hard not to love. They have an almost "bat-like" appearance with their large, upright, rectangular ears. Frenchies are a great-natured, friendly, affectionate & fun family dog.

The French Bulldog originated from English lace makers in Nottingham who bred a toy sized Bulldog to be a lap pet. During the Industrial Revolution many relocated to France, where other breeds were also added & they became incredibly popular which is where the name comes from....The breed's popularity has skyrocketed worldwide over the last ten years.

Frenchies are more likely to suffer from certain health conditions compared to other dog breeds. They're a "brachy-cephalic" (flat face with short muzzle) breed. My advice to anyone thinking of getting one is to do your research first & don't get one if you're on a strict budget! 💜💜these two.🐾🐾

The Siberian Forest Cat

These cats are a fairly large breed. Most require ongoing grooming almost every day! After living in the cold, Russian climate for many generations, they have developed a hardy constitution & a dense triple fur coat that is water resistant. They are extremely affectionate & love attention. Siberian Forest Cats may come in almost any pattern or colour.

Meet Princess Nina - She was in need of a bit of an early Spring hair-cut. Now that we've taken care her mats, she'll be feeling a lot more comfy & Mum will be able to manage her better now. What a Sweet girl! So incredibly brave & tolerant for us.

It's been quite a wet Winter for everyone walking dogs this season. ☔️ Actually, I've been busier than ever in my wet weather gear a lot lately! Bella & Baxter are always keen to make the most of every outing. We ❤️❤️our walks through the woods. 🍄🐾

It seems cat grooming season is starting a little early this year.

I just had to get some pictures of this delightful Birman boy. He was starting to mat up quite a bit under his chest area so we've tidied him up mainly underneath. Now his Mum can manage him more easily as we move towards Spring....Looks like I'm forgiven already. What an incredibly sweet boy!

THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULAR NAIL TRIMS:-

This little darling is one of my most "SENIOR" customers. He doesn't like trips to the vet any more.

Regular nail trimming especially in your pet's golden years, will greatly improve the quality of their lives. Nails will need trimming more often as they get older..... Don't let overgrown nails become a problem as they can put pressure on the joints & tendons causing a lot of unnecessary pain.

- Keep them comfy.

We sadly say goodbye to Duke Today.

The Earth stopped rotating for a split second today & Duke hopped off. 🥲💔🐾

It's been such a pleasure for me to help look after this magnificent boy over the last year. Duke was one of the sweetest boys I've ever met. We're all gonna miss you Dukey Boy. xx

THE BENGAL CAT is a Hybrid cat originally crossed with a domestic cat and an Asian wild Leopard cat. This gives them their stunning exotic appearance & their unique personality traits. They are incredibly intelligent, playful, affectionate cats & generally have very high energy levels. Bengals need a stimulating environment with lots of love and attention.

This little cutie's gonna be a big boy when he grows up! The Maine C**n is the largest domestic cat breed. Males can weigh up to 11 kilos. They are a slow maturing breed and often don't reach their full growth till they're about four or five years of age.

Today we're about to have a grooming session to remove a few unwanted knots under the armpits & hind 1/4's, before they get too much out of control for Mum and Dad to manage.

Matted cats?? Let me take care of the knots before they get too much out of hand.

This beautiful Maine C**n wasn't too impressed....but we managed to clear all the mats, so now Mum can manage her at home in-between grooming sessions....Her little canine brother didn't want to miss out on all the action!

Introducing Baxter....My new foster child. Thanks to Bay of Islands Animal Rescue he can now live his best life. He has a few recent scars but is on the mend now! I've only had him for two days. Baxter is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met!

"CORN ON THE COB" maybe delicious to us humans but PLEASE TAKE CARE!! Dogs are well known scavengers & will eat anything they think is a tasty morsel. Don't take the risk. Dogs can choke on corn cobs & they can also easily cause a nasty intestinal obstruction, as dogs are unable to digest them. Keep corn cobs away from inquisitive pets to avoid serious & potentially fatal injuries. Keep your pets safe this Summer. DON'T LET THEM HAVE ACCESS TO ANY CORN COBS!

JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE!

A trim under the armpits, chest, belly & hind 1/4's for this extremely long haired feline.....Now she'll be a lot cooler, tangle free & comfy for the Summer. It will be easier for Mum to manage her coat now & she'll be able to groom herself more easily.🐾

Have you moved house or changed cell phone? Having up to date contact details linked to your pet's microchip is the most important part of getting lost pets home.
