Snickers is a super cool, fun mare with heaps of untapped potential.
She was purchased with the plan to join the RDA pony team but she’s slightly too spunky for that life and suited to a more experienced, confident rider.

She has not had a lot of competition experience due to no fault of her own but we have a very busy yard here at waitangi, with alot of horses in work, chickens, dogs, lambs, tractors and just general chaos which she has handled like a trooper.

Snickers goes kindly on the flat. Very responsive to your seat and voice.
Fantastic careful jumper with a very cute front end. I could see her being amazing in the show hunter ring.
Has been XC schooling twice, started off low and by the end of the evening was popping happily around the pre training, ditches, water jump etc. As soon as she understood her job she was away.

Would suit a small adult or competent young rider, has zero dirt but best suited to a confident and capable jockey as will feed off a nervous riders energy.

I really rate wee Snickers, and I think someone will have a lot of fun with her. She’s an intelligent mare who tries very hard!

First eventing debut for 5yr Redcliffs Soprano and Milli Owen’s Carlingford Lad.
Both where stars.
Joe was 2nd after dressage , clear sj and some time faults xc to finish 4th overall in the Pre Training.
Soprano was 4th after dressage clear showjumping and again Esther strolling around the xc lend to a time faults but still finished in 6th place .
Stoked with how hard they both tried considering their lack of xc exposure and myself for remembering a dressage test.
Thank you Ella for helping me out on the day, Milli for lending your horse and to Whakapara Pony Club for such a awesome event

Sire: Palomino Stationbred ( Grandsire Mangaatua Casper)

Awesome fun trekker/hunter/allrounder.
Zeph has been with his current owners his whole life, where he has been primarily used as a trekker.

Even though he hasn’t spent a lot of time in the arena, whilst he has been with me the last couple of weeks he’s established some good basics on the flat and a very straight forward, easy ride.

Careful, steady jumper and pops over anything you face him at, jumped spars out hunting, absolutely loves the sea, good through the bush, well accustomed to farm life- currently living in a paddock with a pig and chickens, great with tractors, dogs, farm machinery etc.

Hacks out on a long rein, awesome with young horses-i’ve been leading my break ins off him, stays patient and calm when they play up.
Good in group, happy to go in the front or back.

I took him to his first training showjumping last week and he behaved very well in a busy warm up, jumped all the fill , stood well In his yard-even when left alone and was very easy to deal with.

Easy to float alone or with company.
Has great feet and has been barefoot most of his life-currently shod all-round while he is with me, and didn’t bat an eye his first time been hot shod.
Ties up well and is good to worm.

Although Zeph has no dirt, he is still a big horse and not suited to a nervous or beginner rider, but would be a great fun mount to do a bit of everything on and become someone’s best friend.

Back into the swing of things here at waitangi with 12 in work and 2 more arriving this weekend.

Feeling very fortunate to be trusted with some lovely horses this year and also very grateful have my long time friend Milli Owen helping me out and of course the amazing waitangi farm which is such an fantastic spot for producing and educating the youngsters.

Here’s to more sunny weather and day light savings.

11yo 14.2hh Stationbred Mare.

Has been used as a trekking horse for most of her life.
Heaps of experience and milage on hill country, through bush, on the beach, mustering and over farmland.
She has a great walk , good in a big busy group -at the front or back. She can be alittle looky hacking out alone but gets a lot of confidence from her rider.

She has just started some basic schooling and jumping. And is although green is proving to have a super jump, scopey, careful, brave and tried very hard. I can see, with abit of time she could do very well out competing.

Rimmie has no dirt whatsoever but possibly had a rough break in and can be alittle worried at times. Needs a kind confident rider. Once she trusts you she’ll be away.
Does not have to be ridden regularly. You can leave her for a month and she’ll be the same as when you last rode her.

Great to tie, float, truck, very respectful on the ground with lovely manners. Can be abit worried with the farrier -but again, as long as you take her quietly she’s fine .
Awesome feet, never needed shoes .
Up to date with worming and dentist.
Good confirmation, no scars and straight movement.
Not mareish at all. Pretty low maintenance type, good doer and easy to have around.

She really is a sweetheart and deserves the best of homes.

💗Meet Millie 💗

15.1hh, 6 years old, Percheron x Clydie x TB.
Total gem to have around, soft and willing on the flat and for a short and round creature has a very cute jump.

She is in full work, has been to northgate sj training-where she behaved perfectly.
Is going XC schooling this weekend at Kaikohe, and will be at barge sj on the 16th.
Before she heads down the line with me for a week long trek through king country.

Couple of piccys of Holly Taylor’s 4yo Billy. Holly and I started Billy last year as a 3yo and now again he came back for abit more schooling.
I’m very grateful for clients who allow there youngsters time to grow and mature.
Mentally and physically last year Billy was not upto much more than abit of light hacking around but after having a winter break he has come in very enthusiastic and ready for some more challenging sessions.
Excited to see what him and Holly get upto in the future.

With a bit more time on my hands, and Kelly Wilson's horses finishing the bulk of their education this summer (I've been working x4 of her horses for her while she recovers), I am opening up space for two schoolers to join my team from the 1st of February to mid March.

In my schooling, I work to create the ultimate, safe companion by encorperating ground work, obstacles, body control work, hacking, ba****ck riding, adventures through the bush and x-country schooling into their training routines. I focus on building better understanding in the flatwork, encouraging relaxation and thoughtfulness no matter the environment and developing a solid education to help them thrive no matter what level or discipline they are destined for.

These spaces are ideally suitable for green horses, even ones who have come off the breaker, rather than horses with behavioural issues, as in my experience most behavioural issues end up being phsyical issues which generally require a bit more of my time and resources as they usually need to have vet checks and go through a thorough rehab program.
