After a very wet spring now the heat has arrved 31 Degrees yeseterday and 30 today
Extreme for Kerikeri at this time of year.
These photos are JUST for fun (!)showing how my cats kittens and dog find the easiest place to relax and how dry the trees are.

Happy New Year to all my friends .
Very busy with family here over the holiday period .
The kittens are growing well and will be ready at the beginning of February.
Such fun at this age and they all have their parents great nature. and typical Cornish like to be part of all activities
Another year beginning and it is time for "Dbl Gd Sunset Miss Marple " and Penny (Susaramo Show Me The Money (Imp Aus) to retire .
They will be spayed later this month. This is always sad for breeders but they deserve to be someone's special cat and not one of a group as they are when breeding .
Of course I will have their younger offspring to carry their lines .

Photos of the two litters
Miss Marple 's 2 black males and a cinnamon tortie female
5 weeks will. be available end of Janauary
Penny's a mix of colours 2 boys 2 girls
Colours still developing Available late January
Last time I said Milded was available but have changed my mind Many breeders will kmow that feeling "i can't let her go" Commons sense does not always prevail !
Instead her sister Minnie ,same colouring and the smallest of the litter has grown well and is booked to be spayed etc on 15th December so woild be available at the end of December

A week late in posting this!
Many thanks to Denise for promtoing the Cornish at the Pet Expo
Freud is an incredible showman and oh so curious
He just loves the public and it was great for children to feel the the silky wavy coat . He was happy for any child to scratch his tummy and it was a long day.
Nothing bothers him he loves a new experience.
The other photo of him at home is watching TV to broaden his knowledge !
Now to the kittens .
Ted ( chocolate mink and Mildred(tortie) are available
Ted can. move any time Midred in another couple of weeks.
Ted is neutered 2 vaccinations and Registerd with NZCF and NZCR . Ted loves everyone and would be a real fun addition to a family.
Mildred is a gentle girl who would prefer a quieter home , very affectionate and loves to be with you
Penny's 4 kittens at 5weeks doing well and will post photos of them soon Just waiting for colours to develop.
So far a seal point bicolour girl , A lynx point girl and a very adventurous boy ,seal? and already named Gulliver as he had explored all his room and finally a boy looks a very pale chocolate ot cinnamon point (Reserved)

A busy time here . Ellie could not manage to feed her kittens, 7 is a lot and so I became their second mother
The 3 chocolate mink boys are real characters, almost identical. They have had their first vaccination and vet check and will be available from 4th December Also their seal. tortie sister They rule the house an d so affectionate

Then to complete the madness Penny had 4kittens on 28th October.
Colours not definite yet as 3 are pointed or pointed

Like a lot of breeders I waited anxiously for the mail today
Thrilled that "Br. Dbl. Gd Ch Sunset Peter Piper "was placed 5th in the annual NZCF awards for shorthair entire cats in NZ 2025
Tough competition !
When I think back to his first show as an adult and thank Paul Henry for taking time when as a "teenager"Peter's long legs went in all directions to the cat he developed into as the most laidback cat you could imagine.
He has now sired some lovely kittens although the litters were bigger than I had anticipated !
Now Peter has gone to his new home with Debbie at Zebracatz where I'm sure he will give her some good litters.
I have to thank Denise Barron and Debbie Mason for their amazing support promoting the the breed and fun trips to shows over the season.
We traveled a long wav!

Meanwhile here we have Peter babies causing havoc and Looking forward to the beginning or November to kittens from my special cinnamon girl "Db Gd Ch Sunset Miss Marple." (Silvy who was top entire i short hair n NZ 2022)
Hoping. for a good cinnamon even though I know that colour does't matter!
Will post kitten photos soon but still getting to grips with my new Mac computer (I'm a slow learner!)

For all the Auckland people , do go to the Pet Expo this weekend.
Hamilton Cat Club has a stand and there you will see the examples of many breeds plus the chance to win a special raffle .
For Cornish Rex. lovers you will see "Sunset Peter Piper" and photos of his first two litters.
Do ask any Debbie questions you have about the breed.
Peter's first litters will be available end of November and December onwards and Debbie will also have litters by him
Thse photos are of Sunset Miss B Havin"s litter aged 3 weeks
Later will post pictures of Ellie's litter of 7 . all doing well Because they are either pointed or mink the colour takes a while to develop

Home after an enjoyable weekend at Napier for the Patches and Pointed cat show WHuge thanks to Chris and Gaynor for running a fantastic show after all the pre show problems I had Peter (Dbl Gd Ch Sunset Peter Piper) and he has a successful show being in the top 4 in every ring He behaved beautifully non stop purring for each of the four judges I was thrilled when Bambi Edwards (Aus) gave him a Breeders Award of Merit and a gorgeous ribbon for her Judge’ s choice in the Entire Adult Shorthair cats He is now 15 months old and the proud father of two litters of kittens Ellie is coping well with her 7 babies and Miss B has 5 kittens Photos of these will be updated in a week or two Also I will ask a friend to post a video of Peter at the show as again had desktop problems

Ellie's kittens one week old and she is coping well with such a large litter .
Her good friend Miss B had 5 kittens 5 days ago so will not help with Ellie's
All doing well at present .
Ellie's 7 taking a while to develop colour, some seal points and the others will be chocolate, red or tortie point.
Miss B,s kittens 5 days old so still a bit like fat little mice.
One red bicolour male who has a home booked , a black tortie girl , a pointed boy , a pointed girl , a pointed boy and a cinnamon tortie girl (stays!)

Yesterday was a big day for Ellie(Sunset Belle Etoile ) and worry for me as she was huge.
7 kittens born 3 girls and 4 boys , Too many for her although she is coping '
Miss B(Ch Sunset Miss B Havin') is due shortly so hoping she only has a few and perhaps I can pass one of two of Ellie's.
Otherwise looking forward I may have to bottle feed them if Ellie finds them too much
Too early to be sure of colours
These are the first kittens by " Gd Ch Sunset Peter Piper"
Kittens will either be chocolate , red, or tortie point or mink

The two new kittens mostly Russian but go back on the mother's side to Kalizma and Sunset .
They are gorgeous but only have one speed like a rocket .
I will have to get a professional photographer to do them justice before I post photos!

Finally everything with my computer has been corrected .
August is going to be a busy month here.
Ellie (Sunset Bell Etoile) is due next week. Such a gentle glrl and she will have the first litter by Gd Ch Sunset Peter Piper .
Peter is the only "child" from my imported Hungarian girl Okonor Alicia so very special to me .
Colours expected from Ellie pointed or mink as Peter is an apricot point and Ellie is a Lilac tortie mink
At the end of the month "Ch Sunset Miss B Havin' "blue tortie bicolour A variety of colours including cinnamon expected.

The big news is that I have 2 new kittens arriving soon from my good friend Bradley Jones
These are by his beautiful Russian boy "Corbri Yamaha" and mother is 3/4 Russian but goes back to my and Bradley's French and older lines .
So important to keep those old lines in the pedigrees.
Like most breeders I spend so much time studying pedigrees selecting cats that carry what I want to improve my cats
Of course one is never satisfied in this quest to breed what Bradley and I consider the perfect Cornish !!
One member of my animal family is Reggie the one year old Chihuahua . Drives me mad at times as he is like a Jack in a box but of course I love him and he loves everyone . Of course he does make sure my kittens are almost bombproof when they head to new homes. No wonder this is a bit of a mad house with cats and the dog taking turns to chase each other
