Franki and Fetch

For numerous reasons, Franki and Fetch is temporarily stopping business as a “regular” grooming salon.

I will keep a very small number of dogs on the books to help my clients with special requirements, and will communicate this out individually. I will decide and communicate this out by Tuesday next week.

To my fellow salons, I will still be available for relief work, so please feel free to message me when you are in need.

I have loved grooming your dogs, and I’m sorry if anyone feels disappointed or let down.

Hopefully we will be back up and running in the near future.

Mini groom for Pip today, so she's all ready for Christmas 🎄 I'm so proud of Pips' progress this year! Her very first time she came to me, we could hardly get her nails done (and nothing else!). Today, she was so calm for her bath, dry, brush out, and most of her nails! I'm still getting her used to the sound of scissors (the noise is very scary to her!), but I'm hopefully that next year those pesky hairs in front of her eyes will be able to be trimmed ❤️

It was Loki- bears first groom with me, and he is such a character. The hair on his head, ears and tail has never been cut, and the face he gave me when I put his hair up in a high pony to blend in his neck was priceless 🤣

Yoshi is all ready for spring tomorrow 🌼🪷🏵 This is Yoshi's third groom with me, and she is so good at getting onto the table and into the bath by herself! She even falls asleep under the dryer, and just wants to sleep for the last half hour of the groom 🤣😅

(although I do suspect her favourite part of the groom is playing with
while I clean the salon!)

This guy had his weekly bath, fluff dry, and comb out today 💕 He's by the far the heaviest dog I groom (a whopping 19.5kgs, and big for his breed!). I normally only groom dogs under 16kgs as I cannot lift dogs above this weight, but he is so good at following commands- "up" for jumping on the table, and "bath" for getting into the bath 💕

If your dog is above 16kgs, but under 20kg, and you are confident they will hop onto table/bath themselves, then feel free to book them in 🐾

Did you know that matts (dense clumps of tangled fur) and knots can make your dog colder in winter, even if their coat is long?

Matted, tangled fur can become wet from snow, rain, or ice and does not dry as quickly as a well combed out coat. The moisture trapped in the tangles makes your pets colder, and can be a breeding ground for bacteria.

The best prevention is regular brushing, with the correct technique, and regular trips to the groomer. I recommend professional grooming at least every 6 weeks. If you are unsure of the correct brushing technique to prevent matts and tangles, feel free to chat to me!

Little Oscar came for a tidy up groom and matt removal today. We had such a great time, and we went half an hour over his appointment time! Luckily, I didn't have another dog booked right after😁

No matter how many times I do a deshed groom on a short haired dog, I'm still surprised how much dead hair comes out of their coat!

Poppy was such a sweetheart! She got onto the table and bath all by herself and just wanted to give all the kisses! She was a little nervous for the dryer, so she got lots of extra cuddles.

Puppies are definitely my favorite to groom! Did you know introducing your puppy to grooming early in life (once fully vaccinated) helps to make the experience fun and a part of life for them instead of a scary experience? 🐾

Yoshi came for her groom this morning and is my first repeat customer in Kingston 🥰 She had her first groom with me before the salon opened while I was pet sitting her for 2 weeks. She takes her groom as an opportunity to nap and sighs heavily when I interrupt her nap to groom her legs and belly 🤣
