We would like to introduce Rocket who is looking for his new forever home.

Through no fault of his own Rocket is on the lookout for his new loving family. Rocket is a goofy fun-loving boy, although shy at first, he does come out of his shell and will be an entertaining and loving addition to a family. A neutered, fully vaccinated, 2 and a half year old boy, he is a Great Dane Collie (we think Bearded Collie) cross but don’t let that put you off, his size is more of a lanky large dog than a great dane. With his last family he was around small children and had no reaction to children visiting the kennels but will need a supervised introduction to cats and small dogs, he likes to play chase with them. We have introduced him to sheep and cattle, he barks at sheep and tries to chase the cattle so will need to learn some boundaries with them. His recall is improving.

Rocket loves to play with other dogs and is learning to tone down the boisterous play, he is a young lad after all but has no aggressive tendencies just forgets his size sometimes. He loves to play in the paddling pool and somehow manages to fit in followed of course by a roll in the dirt!

Due to his anxiety with the changes in his life he will need some time to adjust to a new family and we are happy to facilitate this. Rocket will need secure fencing as can jump when anxious, but this didn’t last long when first at the kennels as he settled in.

We believe Rocket is best suited to an environment where there is a lot of human company, he is used to the routine here at the kennels where he does have down time in his kennel but does get anxious when things change significantly.

Please contact Kowai Pet Boarding if you are interested in giving Rocket a loving home.

Well that was a nasty little storm front that came through today. Brought down one of the trees onto a fence so now the clean up and repairs commence. At least it happened when everyone was tucked away safe in their kennels.

UPDATE: Buggy has found her new home. Thank you everyone who messaged about her.

While she may be getting on in years this 9yr old Foxie lady is healthy and active and looking for a new loving home. Buggy is good with older children and gets on with other dogs but thinks she is a little bigger than actually is - in her mind she is a big Rottweiler especially around other female dogs.

Buggy would be a fantastic companion for an elderly person. Brilliant little guard dog will always tell you when someone is around. Loves cuddles once she gets to know you. House trained, fully vaccinated, great travelling in the car and perfect on the lead out and about. Quite a little character. Buggy has stayed with us at the kennels and is a pleasure to have.

If you are interested in giving Buggy a loving home please contact Kowai Pet Boarding.
