Thanks for all the interest - Roy is currently on trial with a new family so fingers crossed it is his new home.

Due to his family moving overseas, to a hotter climate, Roy needs to find a new home. Roy is a 2 year old male blue heeler. He is currently living with a 6 year old female Greyhound. He's best suited to older children (above 7) as he can get quite excited.

Roy is crate trained and is a creature of habit. He's loyal, loveable and very intelligent and he's easy to train with treats. He has classic heeler traits and will try bite moving wheels of all kinds (lawnmower etc) He's slightly reactive on lead but getting better with ongoing training.

Ideally he would require a home with land and space run around on, preferably with another dog friend. At the kennels Roy is shy, but when comfortable is very social, a lovable lad and very, very smart. He loves to work, be praised and get chin scratches :-).

If you are interested in giving Roy a new home, please contact Kowai Pet Boarding and we will pass details to his owners.

Hi all, unfortunately due to inflation, rising costs and last years wage increases mean we cannot keep the status quo and will have to increase our prices from 1st February 2025. We have managed to keep prices as low as we could for as long as we could, but at some point we have to move. We have kept the increase to a minimum with at most a $2 increase per day. Multiple guests and long stay discounts will still be applied.

Daily Prices from 1st February will be -

Toy/Small dogs $22
Medium dogs $24
Large/Extra large dogs $28
Doggie Daycare $18 per day and the pack of 10 credits is $162
Cats $16 per day

Rocket is still waiting for his new home - hard to believe we have had no interest in this goofy lad.

We would like to introduce Rocket who is looking for his new forever home.

Through no fault of his own Rocket is on the lookout for his new loving family. Rocket is a goofy fun-loving boy, although shy at first, he does come out of his shell and will be an entertaining and loving addition to a family. A neutered, fully vaccinated, 2 and a half year old boy, he is a Great Dane Collie (we think Bearded Collie) cross but don’t let that put you off, his size is more of a lanky large dog than a great dane. With his last family he was around small children and had no reaction to children visiting the kennels but will need a supervised introduction to cats and small dogs, he likes to play chase with them. We have introduced him to sheep and cattle, he barks at sheep and tries to chase the cattle so will need to learn some boundaries with them. His recall is improving.

Rocket loves to play with other dogs and is learning to tone down the boisterous play, he is a young lad after all but has no aggressive tendencies just forgets his size sometimes. He loves to play in the paddling pool and somehow manages to fit in followed of course by a roll in the dirt!

Due to his anxiety with the changes in his life he will need some time to adjust to a new family and we are happy to facilitate this. Rocket will need secure fencing as can jump when anxious, but this didn’t last long when first at the kennels as he settled in.

We believe Rocket is best suited to an environment where there is a lot of human company, he is used to the routine here at the kennels where he does have down time in his kennel but does get anxious when things change significantly.

Please contact Kowai Pet Boarding if you are interested in giving Rocket a loving home.

Well that was a nasty little storm front that came through today. Brought down one of the trees onto a fence so now the clean up and repairs commence. At least it happened when everyone was tucked away safe in their kennels.
