Llamas are more than just a fluffy toy, meme or cartoon. They are a Rare breed in NZ and their wild ancestor the Guanaco is endangered in their native South America. New Zealand has the only domestic herds of Guanaco in the world so we are ideally placed to improve the genetics of the International herd
They are one of the most environmentally friendly large animal we have in NZ. Their feet are light on the ground, they love browsing scrubby weeds such as gorse and blackberry. They have a strong sense of personal space so are safe to handle.
