Big update on jocey, she is such a super star !!! We have covered alot with this little mare and she just takes everything in her stride.
Here is lots of little clips of what we have been working on
She is perfect to do gates, very patient and pretty much voice controlled 😍
You can pony off of her
She is a really nice lead horse
We have been through rivers
Up hills
Perfect going for a canter with others or just crusing around in walk
She is a little wairy of puddle and logs but easy to push through gently
She has an awesome big walk you can let her go on the buckle and she just stides out but is very polite and dosnt take off or anything
She is quite happy to be your personal boom box, tie your speaker to her saddle and go for a 2h ride with some beats on full blast 😆
She is truly awesome !!!

Well its official, violet is coming back in to work !! Boot camp is now starting, she has pretty much had the last 16 weeks to herself due to two small injuries that where just in awkward places so left her alone while she was healing, was super please that she was willing to walk trot and canter around the arena in a nice manner even though she has had the wild horse treatment for so long haha, no lunging before hand and not an inch of anything bad from her 😊 she has had a good bath and is now ready to clip in the next few days and I have just looked at the weather and it is saying rain for the next week 🙈 should of probably looked before going to the farm to bath her 🙄😆

I have some unfortunate news.
I will not be taking any more client’s for a few months as I am relocating to otaki with a new full time job.

I am going to try to keep my business open so that in the near future I could possibly offer some of my services
This breaks my heart as I feel I have worked so hard for everyone I have come in to business with.

I also need to find my 3 beautiful horses new homes, in these uncertain times alot of my gear will also be for sale.

The business closes on 5th August as I will need a few days to sort some other details out.

I apologize to everyone that has been waiting on a date that suits them and hope that you will understand that this isnt a decision I wanted to make.

I also want to say a huge thank you to all of my amazing clients I have had the privilege to meet throughout this short journey.

I appreciate everyone that has supported me through out my time at Totara Downs.

Josey went on her first proper ride out on the farm today, been taking small steps to get here and she is doing so well, the river was a big deal for her and the first crossing took about 20mins to get across but she got there in the end with gentle forward gestures
The second crossing was super deep and as you can see she crossed it confidently trusting my direction, she is a super cool little mare 😍🤩

Mr t is absolutely loving his new home 😍
My heart filled with joy when I got a lovely message from his new owner today so felt I needed to share it with his followers.
While they are still figuring out all his bottons and still getting to know each other he truly is a super star ❤
He has had a new hair cut and clearly having lots of fun with his new partner 🤩

Thank you so much for the updats from him claire martin, I appreciate them immensely 🥰

Everyone meet Joicey 😍
She is a very sweet but suspicious 9yo mare who is just broken in and has come to me for some general mileage in the hope to become a stress free trecking horse
She is a Morgan × warmblood and definitely has a presence about her that you cant help but love, this week we are just ticking away with nice short sessions to figure out what she likes and dosnt like and most importantly to build a bond that she trusts.🤝
I cant wait for the progress to show with this one 🥰🤩

He has been such a cool horse to have around here, will definitely miss picking him for a nice quite hack or to do some chill schooling, he was definitely my armchair ride 🥰

Paris went to her first show outing to manfeild this weekend just gone, she did amazing really !!

We turned up on the friday not sure we where even in the correct place as we where the first to show, we where unsure how she would cope with no other horses around, she was a little vocal to start with then settled in verry nicely, then everyone seemed to turn up at the same time so that was extremely exciting but after a few other horses where in the yards she was over it and continued to eat her hay, we did the arena familiarization on the friday afternoon where she was a star there was lots of new things to take in and she was extremely forward, there where quite a few horses around which she didnt mind surprisingly.

Saturday she was an absolute star to plat up and she just fell asleep while we were faffing around her, her warm up was a little short so the test was a little rushed which showed in her results but with it being her first show I rode what she was giving, we finished her off with lots of walking around in the warm up so she could continue to take in the atmosphere and everything around her.

Sunday we aimed to have more warm up time to settle her a little more before the test, as we where just about to go in as we checked the times late the night before, her owner bridget thought it was a little odd the judge was not at the arena so double checked the time on evoevents and they had changed form 11am to 9:16am so we had missed the test 🙈 it was super disappointing as we wanted to pull off a better test.
We live and we learn.
We were both happy with how she did over all throughout the whole weekend, there was lots to take away and try better, lots to always work on.
I will hopefully upload a few snaps of the videos in a few days

Mr t, you are so awesome 🥰😍🤩 gotta love xc session in a dressage saddle, please excuse my position he was a little keen but I am absolutely loving the fact he is feeling good in himself he gave every thing we jumped plenty of air !! No scope no hope right ? 🤣🤣

Well mr t is super sweet, here are a few videos of today poping over some jumps, he really trys hard and has a lovely jump, can put his opinion across when he locks on to the jump but dosnt knock poles jumped around 70cm today, but they are absolutely nothing to him 🤣 just want to add that I ride him in my dressage saddle 🙈
