FOUND KITTEN 🐈‍⬛

We have had a small black female kitten brought into us. She is unfortunately not microchipped.

She was found at the opposite end of George Street in Stokes Valley.

This Saturday the 30th of November, the clinic will be closing up early as the team will be heading over the hill for our Christmas party activities.

We will still be open from 9am-12pm, so please keep this in mind when heading into the weekend.

This handsome little man was found on Raukawa street.

He is not microchipped but super cute and friendly just a little scared.

🐾 FOUND CAT 🐾

We have had a cat brought into us this morning who was found on Logie street.

He was around the finders home every now and again for about two years before disappearing for 6-8 months and now returning abit skinnier than before.

He is a neutered male with no microchip. He is very vocal with dark “bengal like” markings.

Did you know that Valley Cottage Vets was the first official Living Wage vet clinic in New Zealand? We’re still one of only two Living Wage vet clinics in the country one year later. 🇳🇿

Being part of the veterinary industry is incredibly rewarding but it can also be pretty punishing, both emotionally and physically. Being undervalued and underpaid for the hard work clinic staff do has gone on for far too long. We’d like to see more clinics join us on the list of official Living Wage employers. 📈

🐾💙Happy Vet Nurse Appreciation Week!💙🐾

To our team of amazing nurses - Petra, Caitlin, Amara, Natalie, Chelsea, Ruby, Hollie, and Bex, THANK YOU for everything you do! (Ron Ron loves you guys, even though he doesn't look impressed in the picture!) 😻

Our nurses look after every single patient like one of their own. The amount of care, compassion and love they have for any animal that comes through our door is something you do not see often! 🩺

Historically vet nurses don't often stay very long in their profession, as it takes such a massive toll on their mental health. Not only that, but vet nurses have and still are not paid enough. We are so proud to say we were the first vet clinic in New Zealand to be a registered living wage employer, and are still only one of two clinics who are! We think they deserve this, and hope other clinics will join us! 🙌
