He does not have a microchip, and has not been desexed.

Please get to know another one of our lovely nurses, Caitlin! ☀️

Caitlin started with us back in 2022 while she was studying her diploma in veterinary nursing and has enjoyed being with us ever since. From assisting with medical procedures to offering gentle comfort and care, she is committed to ensuring every visit is as stress-free as possible for both you and your furry friends. 🐶 🩺

After work, she can be found using her afternoons to cuddle up with her two favorite fluffy girls, Luna and Aurora, watching her favorite shows. On the weekends she can be found soaking up all nature has to offer, planning for future travels or spending time surrounded by good music and friends. 🎼 🌍

FOUND CAT

Unfortunately a fully black female cat was found deceased on the corner of Stokes Valley Road and Wagon Road this morning. She is currently with us.

She has no chip but we know she has a loving home as she is wearing a collar, if you may know anything about her or her family please get in touch with us on 045636826.

We thought we’d share some behind the scenes here at Valley Cottage Vets! Earlier last year we made the decision to start to incorporate team building activities outside of work hours. This has helped the team to grow together, boost morale, and create a sense of camaraderie! (It’s also just a load of fun! 🎉)

Please meet one of our many fantastic nurses here at Valley Cottage Vet, Petra!

Petra joined the team back in 2022 as a part-time receptionist while she was studying towards her veterinary nursing diploma, and is now one of the wonderful nurses here. From administering treatments, offering advice, or just giving extra cuddles she is committed to making sure your furry friends receive the top-notch care they deserve. 💗

When Petra isn’t putting in the extra hours, she spends her time keeping her many plants watered and thriving. While also ensuring her two beautiful kitties Ru and Moomoo are snuggled up and toasty, snoozing in the comfiest of spots. 🐱 She also enjoys exploring the world, with many places on her bucket list, including all the best vegan restaurants! 🗺️ ⛰️

Petra is always open to trying new vegan recipes, if you have any at all let us know in the comments below! 🥒🥕

Please meet another one of our wonderful vets here at Valley Cottage Vets, Dr. Alice! 🩺

From performing a majority of your pet’s surgeries to providing personalized care during routine check-ups, Dr. Alice consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every pet receives the best possible treatment. Alice is passionate about all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine but particularly enjoys doing most of our surgeries and dentals, which she’s been doing with us since 2022. ☀️

When Alice isn’t working hard doing all things veterinary, she can be found walking her very energetic English Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Pumbaa and Piglet. She also enjoys tramping her way around New Zealand, reading her favorite books or cooking up a storm in the kitchen! - We can happily confirm her baking is extremely good! 🍰🍪

Before starting with us, Hollie was a dog groomer for a number of years, and is now our go to person to get your furry friends nails clipped to perfection. When she isn’t greeting you with a smile, she can be found immersed in a good book, gaming and tending to her many chooks or chubby kitty, Red with her 3 year old son. 🐓

Please meet the dedicated leader behind the scenes here at Valley Cottage Vets, our wonderful practice manager, Rebeka! 🦋

Rebeka has been a part of the clinic since long before Valley Cottage Vets, starting in 2018 as a part-time receptionist. Since then, Rebeka has flourished into a great practice manager, from overseeing daily operations, to fostering a compassionate environment for our furry patients and their families. 🏡🐈

When Rebeka isn’t ensuring that every aspect of our clinic operates smoothly, her spare time consists of her little feline princess, Bean, who takes up a majority of her time. When she isn’t tending to Bean’s needs, she enjoys yoga, dancing and board games with friends. 🧩

A big thank you to Rebeka for supporting the clinic in every way possible, we appreciate you beyond words. 💕

Meet one of our vets here at Valley Cottage Vets, Dr. Alix! 🩺

From routine check-ups to those unexpected moments when your pets need a little extra TLC, Dr. Alix will always be there with a smile, expertise, and genuine care. His passion for animals shines through in everything he does, making each visit a positive experience. 🌞🐶

Alix has worked in lots of different parts of the veterinary industry, including dairy cattle work, disease control programmes and locum work before starting at Stokes Valley in 2020. 🐾

When he isn’t cracking jokes or working somewhat hard, he is usually either pottering around in his garden with an attempt to look productive, talking to his cats or reading a history book of some sort. 📖

🎉👥 Meet The Team Tuesdays! 👥🎉

We thought it might be time to officially introduce you to the team here at Valley Cottage Vets. Keep an eye out every Tuesday for introductions to our wonderful team members! 🌟

Starting us off strong is the newest member to our team, meet Ron! 🐱

As you may have seen, Ron was brought into us as a stray a few weeks ago. He is now neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and living the high life. He spends his days watching the birds outside and sprawling over any surface he deems comfortable. Ron is FIV positive, so he will be kept indoors to not only keep him safe, but to reduce the spread of FIV in the feline community. 🐾🌿

Unfortunately we have had a deceased cat brought into our clinic this morning by a member of the public.

She is a full black, short haired young female. Found along field street, Silverstream. Closer to the exit roundabout/ train bridge. No microchip.

Coming into work this morning we noticed a not so nice addition to our clinic sign. Vandalism like this goes against the level of care and compassion that our clinic stands for.

She does not have a microchip, however, she does seem like she is very well looked after so we suspect she has a family close by.

This pretty lady was brought into us yesterday! She had been hanging around a property on Stokes Valley Road, near James Grove for a while now.

We aren't sure of her age and she doesn't have a microchip, however, after we had a good look at her we found that she actually is missing a majority of her teeth. We believe she may have had her teeth extracted by a vet, so we think she has a family out there!

She is roughly 10wks old and does not have a microchip.
