I have decided I have more than enough to do this coming season now.

Simon is no longer available as he will be busy enough with mine, the owner's mare and an outside mare. Looking forward to when he arrives!

Select-a-foal is now closed. Since I now have a few mares under contract, do not need Primo to go under.

So that is all for now. Roll on spring! :)

Well the select-a-foal has had a great result! Only Primo the chestnut mare by Des that will go in foal to Simon is available. :)

That means that there is only one spot left now for a mare to be booked to Simon this coming season.

Getting organized for the season to start soon.

Reminder that bookings close for Simon on the 1st September so if anyone would like to send a mare to him, get in touch! Yes I do keep mentioning this but it really is a good opportunity not to miss! :)

This weekend we are picking up Milly. Be good to have her back. She is dam of Destiny's Armani and Destiny's Dream Weaver.

Destiny's Prima Donna should be home in a week or so. Really looking forward to seeing her as have not seen her in person since she left at about 18 months of age.

I have been considering doing select-a-foal again. I have not put anything in foal yet. It is where the person gets the resulting foal when they are five months old. If anyone is interested in a mare in foal to either Des or Simon, then contact me for more information. :)

Going to be a busy start to the season! :)

We have been fortunate to purchase a mare in foal to Darvel Supanova from Carol of Highbridge Sporthorses. Kate is a lovely 15.2hh registered pinto mare that is due in November. We are also picking up another mare from Carol on behalf of a friend who will get put in foal to Simon this coming season.

Simon's bookings for October is now closed. He will have a couple of spaces available in November if anyone is interested.

Destiny's Prima Donna is coming back home in a few weeks from the South Island. We look forward to having Des's first daughter back in the family.

Milly (who is dam of Gio and Dezi) will be coming home next month. I think that is more than enough mares for us now!

JUST A REMINDER THAT SIMON THE CLYDE IS AVAILABLE AT STUD FOR A LIMITED TIME. :)

PLEASE NOTE: Simone standing at stud here at Destiny Sporthorses will depend on if he gets outside bookings. Booking fee must be paid by the 1st September 2024 to secure a service. His season will start 1st October 2024.

Simon is a 16.2hh registered clydesdale stallion by Two Rivers Midnight out of DT Sunset Cody Cannelle. Simon can only sire bay progeny, he cannot sire black or chestnut. He has six mares due this coming season and will be hand serve only.

Simon's service fee is $700 with an LFG. A non refundable booking/handling fee of $200 is to be paid to secure. The booking fee will come off the service fee if mare confirms in foal. Grazing and scanning fees will also apply.

Located 10k from Mangaweka (off SH1), North Island.

18-06-24. Fizz is a 15.3hh, 10 year old crossbred maiden mare.

We are now proud owners of Destiny's Prima Donna by Des out of Awatea Tiara. Primo is Des's first born daughter. :)

Sadly Jennifer had to part with Primo after owning her for 14 years. I was so happy to get her back. Thank you so much Jennifer for the opportunity and delivering her to Cherie for me!

Thank you to Cherie of Twin Blues Stud for letting me get her delivered to her place in the SI. She is going to be ridden by Rayanna (Cherie's daughter) for a few months before coming home to be put in foal. I certainly look forward to the updates and photos before she comes home!

Sassy was picked up by her owner Claire McKenna on Wednesday who is also owner of Roxy. It was sad to see her go but she just did not fit in here sadly. I know she is going to be well cared for by Claire and I look forward to seeing her future babies.

Matt and I brought up Des and Saph for winter from his paddock by the river. Looking forward to her foal this coming season.

This coming weekend, a lease mare will be turning up. I will put up a photo and let you know who once she is here. I can tell you she is gorgeous!

14-05-24. Saph (Saphira) is a blue roan, 16.1hh, (born 2015) proven broodmare. She is a Paul Johnson bred mare. Saph is a good mum and has no problem with you handling her foal. She has a sweet nature as long as you do not touch her and push her boundaries - had a rough past. Saph had one filly by Des who we purchased back named Sassy. She looks to be in foal to Des and would be due around end August 2024.

15-05-24. Hint of Ginger (Ginger) is a Kaimanawa, 15.1hh maiden mare born 2015. Ginger competed showjumping up to 1.20mtr. She was starting to train at 1.30mtr but became unsound. Her unsoundness is due to old injuries before she was mustered in 2018.
Ginger is in foal to Des and Due October 2024. Her foal is under contract.

Just decided to put up an update. :)

My farrier is coming to trim all the equines tomorrow. I used to have to split his visits in two but now I do not own as many.

I have two mares coming in the near future. One is on lease and the other I mentioned in a previous comment that is coming back home in August. That will make Des happy as he did not have anything for the start of the season.

It seems strange to have only seven horses at the moment (four mares, one weanling, one two year old and one stallion). Mons went back to her previous owner as even tho she was a lovely mare, she would not have been a suitable match for Des.

Not too long now and we will be on foal watch. IF Saph is in foal then she would be due end of August approx. After that it will be Miss and Ginger due early October. Time is going so quickly!

That is all the news for now. I might put some photos of Rain getting a hoof trim in her album tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who has been sending updates of progeny we bred! :)

So the latest update from my post below.

Sven left with Graham of Brogden Horse Transport today. It was sad in two ways. Saying goodbye to the big boy and finding out Graham is retiring so will be no more visits from him.

I am getting back a mare we sold in foal to Des after her foal is weaned. Really appreciate her owner getting on touch! That sorted out finding one for him next season!

So there will not be much in the way of news until next season when Miss hopefully has a lovely c**t for us in October. Keep warm this winter everyone. :)

Today Rain got branded who is almost three months old. Sven will be getting collected by Brogden Horse Transport tomorrow to go to his new home. So a very quiet season this year with only the two foals.

Quietly keeping an eye out for a mare to lease next season for Des. Do not have much in the way of mares for him now. He has one mare confirmed in foal which is Ginger (her foal is under contract) and possibly Saph the blue roan mare (dam of Sassy). The other mare confirmed in foal is Miss who is in foal to Simon to clyde. So another quiet time next season.

Not sure what we plan to put Sassy in foal to next season. She is a blue roan sweet heart and Des's daughter. So I could not resist getting her back. We will have to keep an eye out. 🙂

Destiny's Afena is coming back home. Two year old blue roan filly by Des out of Saphira. Thank you Robert for giving us the opportunity to have her back.
