Hello hello hello!!
You’ve seen our name, you know who we are and what we produce. We are the rave that everyone loves to talk about. A DNA pup is a status pup that comes with the papers to prove their bloodline. Check out this chocolate merle absolutely gorgeous.

DnA Kennels is a collaboration of not only our names and family genetics but also dogs we select to be part of our family and breeding program. We have been selective in the dogs we choose to ensure the litters we create, come from champion lines. Maintaining fit and healthy dogs requires commitment, sacrifice and dedications, attributes we expect of anyone owning one of our pups. We are registered kennel owners in both New Zealand and Australia with a supportive bulldog community surrounding us.
Our journey started with our boy Tux. His name originated because right from the start he was a winner! We had taken our time to find the right dog. Like many beginners in this market and especially if your like us, where endless funds doesn't exist, it was important for us to make an informed choice and get it right. It would be fantastic to say that this has been a smooth sail however we’re not immune to a doggy deal. As they say, everything happens for a reason and that experience taught us what questions to ask, how to check a breeders credibility and not to rush in! So we jumped in the car and started our 8hr return trip to an experienced breeder in Kawerau (who is now our good friend) which is where we picked up our boy. He has a unique personality, built like a tank which holds his block head and he struts a rope that sits perfectly.
After many hours of networking and building our knowledge about the breed we knew it was time to start looking for a girl friend for Tux. We were blessed to have Lucy join our team/family. However like every good breeder, Lucy was not handed over easily. We were asked a series of questions, our experience with bulldogs was assessed and reassurance that our standard of care would maintain was given. Since Lucy was 1 of 1, her breeder was reluctant to let her go and tears were reportedly shed at the airport as Lucy flew to us from Christchurch. Again we are elated to share that we have remained regular contact with Lucy’s breeder and continue to grow our connection. Lucy has the youngest spirit and the most beautiful coat. She wiggles her bum when she's excited and is the first to have a litter of our kennel. Lucy has a huge carriage that carried 10 puppies on her first pregnancy and for a first time mum she has done superb.
Then theres our Indie. Indie came to us at just over a year old. We felt like we had hit the jackpot. We knew her blood lines and we were excited to welcome a grandchild of an international champ into our family. So again we hit the road and completed a 6hr return trip, to pick up our girl from Wellington. Indie has a loving grandmother like character and her eyes speak to you as to tell a story.
Owning a dog of this breed demands owners to educate themselves about the dog, build a supportive bulldog community around them and protect ones emotions as we welcome this breed in to our families, who's notorious for its health issues. British Bulldogs are perfect for the lazy person or an active family who can't dedicate too much time to exercising them. Its recommended not to run this breed and regular cleaning of their rope (fold of skin above their nose) is also advised. British Bulldogs are the funniest dogs to watch sleep, they fart and snore and enjoy a good cuddle. Growing a relationship with your vet is strongly recommended as a means of maintaining regular health checks for your fur baby. From DNA, artificial insemination to everyday care, your vet and experienced bulldog community members are your best sources of advise. We hope this page will serve as a interesting document for people following our journey as kennel owners and British bulldog breeders. We do not claim to be experts as we are continuously learning more and more each day but we are pleased to celebrate the knowledge that we have gained and the community that we have built around us.
