Just an update on the pacas for those who might follow me. BJ one of my stud boys has gone to Timaru to join one of my girls and one of his offspring. See photo of him in truck - he was was keen to get there and hopped in without any persuasion. Galaxy the other stud boy has gone to friends in Carterton - he mated with 2 of their girls last year - the first of whom had a beautiful boy a few weeks ago. We don't know about the other one as she is not due yet. I also mated him once with a girl that I sold thinking her not pregnant but lo and behold to their amazement a wee cria appeared in the paddock a couple of weeks ago. They were a bit shell shocked but are now very enthusiastic about the bundle of fun they now have.
Zack the last cria born here at Gallin Farm won ribbons in the Central Region colourbration Show in November - photo attached with his new owner who is very happy with him. He shows great promise.
So now it's just the cat and me. In contrast to last summer when it rained the whole time this one is super hot and dry. I am very grateful to have a brown lawn that I don't have to mow 😄.
I am happy to have brought pleasure to so many people over the last 8 years - enjoyed it all and met wonderful people from all o ver the world - my alpacas have all found lovely homes - the girls producing babies and the boys doing their thing.
All the best for the future everyone
Sue
PS I might post some paintings soon 🥰
