In utero contracts available on all mares. These are quality mares, proven breeders, recognised performance breeding, and three are also proven under saddle (Lile was injured as a foal so is a career broodmare). Please DM me for contracts. Great news today. Both mares served by Leo over Christmas scanned in foal so that's 2 from 2 first cycle pregnancies for the new kid. Good boy Leo! In foal we have Showfields Celtic Star (Lola) and Glenormiston Lile. All Fun (Mouse) scanned in foal to Brennan earlier in the season (also first cycle and by AI) so now we're just waiting on Dakota (to Brennan) and that will be a wrap for us for this season 🎉

Poppy is out of a nice, big WB mare that I leased for a season to breed a foal and sent back to her owner in foal to Crossiebeg Brennan - Class 1 Studbook Connemara Stallion - A nice ammy friendly sporty and fun wee mare for someone to bring on and really enjoy

Today I took Pepper down to the local Adult Riding Club rally for a group lesson. The sole purpose of the outing was socialisation and he was the goodest of good boys. I am very grateful to the adult ride for organising these outings and to the instructors for giving their time. I am also very proud of my ponio. From getting on and off the float, to standing whilst I mount, to working in a group and not losing his lolly when there were shanninagans happening all around him. The riding on my part was all a bit flappy and definitely not pretty but pretty will come with time. We did manage a few canters although the rider had to work very hard so we're definitely going to press on with our go button installation, haha!a

So many wins to take from today. I am very proud of him

My gorgeous Cocoa is again looking for a new home. Broodmare or paddock mate. I can't take her back so putting it out to the universe in case someone lovely can offer her a home. She's a sweetheart.

With two of this season's foals already sold, we have two that will be heading on to the open market soon (just need to get some photos and video organised) - Interested? If you want to get in before they hit the open market? PM me!

Both fillies to mature large pony. Briar is a purebred Connemara and will be CPSNZ registered and Tipsy, who is part bred Connemara will be registered with the NZWA Sport Horse register or the CPSNZ (get in early enough and this will be your choice). Your purchase price will include these registration costs (and includes any branding and/or microchipping/vet costs).

All the hard work is done here - these are quality, thoughtfully bred and well-handled youngsters that will be ready to rehome at weaning. All my foals are taught to lead and load on a float, have their feet done and are regularly and appropriately drenched. They can also be grazed over winter by negotiation for a nominal fee.

We are also always happy to discuss payment arrangements - Our foals are priced to sell/meet the market (but please note, their pricing does reflect their quality, and the time and care invested in them).

There is a good reason why so many of our foals sell to returning customers or before they've been placed on the open market, and we welcome your interest :)

The time has come to start seriously working on finding a fantastic new home for this year's purebred Connemara filly.

TF Briar Rose is by Crossiebeg Brennan - Class 1 Studbook Connemara Stallion (Capparis Casanova x Taihoa Cloudy/Barwidgee Erriff) and is out of Glenormiston Lile (Castle Baron x Portadown Irish Rose/Domo Cavallo Praize) so, for those performance focused riders/breeders, this one has a double cross back to Praize.

She's a super wee filly, very friendly and easy to handle. Always first up to see you in the paddock. Should mature large pony (14HH+) so will suit a teen or smaller adult rider.

Briar is very pretty with fantastic springy paces and her father's trademark 'ride all day' canter. Has one full sibling in Australia and another in the South Island. I'd LOVE to see Briar go to a performance/ridden home. Please note, for any interested Australian buyers, Queensland itch may be an issue for this foal based on dam and one sibling being affected.

Briar is bay with minimal white so nice and easy to keep clean 😉 - She will be registered with the CPSNZ and HWSD tested. Sire is N/HWSD and dam is N/N.

Full price includes grazing til Briar is one year of age. She will be regularly and appropriately drenched, taught to lead and load on a float and have her feet done and will be available from weaning - Payment plan can be discussed.

Merry Christmas!

Now that we have had Leo a few weeks and had a chance to get to know him a little, I am happy to revise my 'Non-maiden mares only' stance and offer him, live cover, to maiden mares (minimum height 13HH, maximum height 16HH - those of you with bigger mares may need to wait until we have completed his AI training or, dug a hole somewhere!).

Leo has covered my two mares and is a polite and sensible young man who tends to express himself in a 'shyer' or 'gentler' way, unlike Granddad B who is bordering on the ridiculous when it comes to being enthusiastic about getting the job done! This comes as a great relief to me as I don't think my shoulders could handle a 14.2HH version of Brennan! Brennan is a complete superstar and gentleman under saddle/when not covering mares but has always been particularly enthusiastic about his most important job (and don't get me wrong, he is not mean or ill tempered toward anyone when breeding, it is just the level of excitement and exuberance that can be a little exhausting plus I am not as young as I used to be!) - He's also still very, very good at that job so we hope he will still get a few more mares this season too.

For either stallion and live cover breeding, there are the same provisos of having your mare ready to breed/roll in roll out so please have a chat with your vet or access to a gelding for teasing before bringing your mare over. I can also recommend Victoria Martin/SYENZ for all your mare management needs - She has been my AI 'go to' lady for over 15 year and is exceptionally good at what she does. Let me know if you would like contact details - I think she will also take mares for breeding management on farm if you are wanting to breed your mare by AI.
