Another Super SATURDAY of racing on both sides of the Tasman!

Little Avondale born, reared and sold graduate Oak Hill (Per Incanto x Isstoora 4yo gelding) gets his chance at black type glory today at Flemington in the LISTED Bob Hoysted Hcp. Oak Hill is a half brother to Gr.1 winner, Desert Lightning and was bred and sold by Wes Van der Scheer. Good luck to his trainer Glen Thompson (Ballymore Aus) and all his connections.

Bedtime Story (Per Incanto x Happy Endings 4yo mare) lines up in the Flying Hcp at Trentham on Sires Produce Day. Bedtime Story is a very talented mare and she should give her best for her trainers Guy Lowry and Leah Zydenbos of Game Lodge Racing.

Freddie Time (Time Test x Skite 3yo gelding) has come up from the deep South and will back up for trainer Kelvin Tyler in the Gr.3 Manawatu Classic at Trentham.

Little Avondale’s stallion manager, Helen Phinney will have her homebred and raced in conjunction with trainer Gemma McKay, Sumosaurus (Time Test x Centaine Gu Li 5yo gelding) in the 1600m Intowin HCP. Sumosaurus was very impressive running a very good 2nd last weekend and a Saturday win is well within his grasp! All the very best of LA luck to Helen and Gemma!

Several other very talented Per Incanto’s are racing in Australia. Asif (Sacrimony – Per Incanto x Royal Excess 6yo gelding) was impressive at his first start after returning from Singapore and is well placed to be back in the winners circle. Rolling Magic (Per Incanto x Not a Jaffa 4yo gelding) is racing over 1350m at Wyong in the Provincial-Midway Championships Wildcard with the winner getting a direct entry into the $1million Provincial Midway Final at Randwick on the 12th April. Can Expect Greater (Per Incanto x Great Expectations 4yo filly) is in the 1200m Toukley Hcp at Wyong. All three Per Incanto’s were born, bred and reared at Little Avondale!

This is a very nice bay filly by Tarzino - sire of recent Gr.1 NZ Derby winner Willydoit!

Tarzino is the sire of 3 individual Derby and Oaks winners and currently has the favourite for the Australian Derby on the 5th April with Willydoit.

This filly is a very good first foal and stands at approx 15.1 hands. Very well handled, has had one sales prep and a very easy filly to deal with.

She has been rated low risk on her x-ray screens for sales by both Equivets NZ and Dr Chris Lawler, was a Grade 1 scope in January 2025 and will be rescoped within 7 days of this sale completing.

Dam Serena (by Swiss Ace) is a 4x winner (winner as a 2YO) and was LISTED placed in the Wairarapa TB Breeders Stakes. Serena is closely related to multiple Gr.1 winner Sedecrem (by Faltaat) who was also Champion Male Miler and the Listed winner and Group place getter, Mount Street.

How good was Gringotts yesterday winning the Gr.1 George Ryder Stakes!

We are just so thrilled for his breeders Dirk and Nicci Oberholster who also struck gold with Gringotts close relation and their part owned filly Vegas Queen winning the Gr.2 Wellington Guineas!

We hope you celebrated in style Dirk, Nicci and your team! 🥂🍾

Two hours after his close relative Vegas Queen (NZ) (Proisir) won Saturday’s Gr.2 Wellington Guineas (1400m) at Trentham, quality New Zealand-bred gelding Gringotts (NZ) (Per Incanto) took the family’s day to even greater heights with an Australian Group One triumph in the A$1 million George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Gringotts was bred by Totara Park Stud and was offered by Archer Park in Book 1 of Karaka 2021, where Kasa Bloodstock bought him for $100,000.

28 days ago Jimmysstar (Per Incanto x Anniesstar) gave us one of our biggest thrills in racing, taking out the Gr.1 Sportsbet Oakleigh Plate for trainer Ciaron Maher and jockey Ethan Brown.

Jimmy’s back this weekend at Moonee Valley in the Gr.1 William Reid Stakes trying to go for back to back Gr.1 wins.

He has an “awkward” draw of 2, but all of Little Avondale, Jimmy’s ownership group and his cult following will be hoping he can use his lightning ⚡️speed to put them to bed again!

JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an opportunity to join a family owned and operated mixed cattle and farming operation in Glenmorgan, Queensland (approx 4.5 hours west of Brisbane). The property is 50,000 acres running approximately 4,000 head of composite cattle. Farming consists of 4,000 acres of forage crop with the remainder being pasture grazing country.

You’ll be involved in day to day operations including:

- Machinery operating
- Stock handling with motorbikes/horse
- General repair and maintenance

Accommodation is on property with some meals provided.

Majority of weekends are free which provides an opportunity to get involved in the great local community with activities such as the Condamine Rugby Club which is well known for being a social yet competitive country club and is well supported by the surrounding community.

Job requirements:

- Current NZ drivers licence
- Past experience is an advantage

After such a successful NZB Kiwi and Champion’s day at Ellerslie, today’s racing promises to be just as exciting as last week!

Marble Arch (PER INCANTO x Jonquil 5yo mare) starts in the Gr.1 Coolmore Classic 1500m at Rosehill. Marble Arch goes into this race off her very impressive last start win at Flemington in the Gr.2 Blamey Stakes. Marble Arch was bred and sold by William Fell of Goodwood Stud and is now trained by Ben, Will and JD Hayes.

The very consistent Mrs Chrissie (Per Incanto x Turf Fire 6yo mare) is in the 1100m Mystic Journey Sprint at Caulfield for trainer Ciaron Maher.

One of our more recent LA syndicate’s sees the very exciting Poukawa (PER INCANTO X Superior Choice 4yo gelding) resuming after a spell at Wanganui. Poukawa was very impressive winning on debut 10 months ago at the same track and we are confident he can show his talent. Good luck to our syndicate and breeders/owners Anna and Ben Petro and trainers Guy Lowry and Leah Zydenbos.

Little Avondale born, reared and sold on behalf Jade Dragon (TIME TEST x Pure Lorde 3yo filly) starts at Tauranga in the Swap Contractors 3YO 1200m. This filly was very impressive winning her last start at Te Aroha. Jade Dragon is trained by Pam Gerard. Fellow born, reared and sold Yaldi (Ardrossan x Luroel 3YO gelding) starts in the Triton Pacific Owens Plate over 1200m for trainer Andrew Forsman.
