It's been a busy week at Rich Hill! We’ve had the privilege of hosting some of the best in the business, including New Zealand’s leading buyer David Ellis and Marcus Corban, Cambridge trainer Roger James and Sally Gumbley, top Australian bloodstock agent John Foote, and the NZ Yearling Tour group sponsored by NZ Bloodstock, to view our draft of Karaka-bound yearlings.

A big 'thank you' to our superstar yearling manager Chelsea McLeod and the entire Rich Hill crew. This is a true team effort, starting with breeding and foaling, through to weaning and raising these athletes to give them their best shot at success.

And now... it’s almost showtime! We’re gearing up to hit Karaka, with parading kicking off this Tuesday.

Our yearling videos are now online with NZB (https://www.nzb.co.nz), and their photos will be available later tonight.

It was a weekend to celebrate at Rich Hill, with a number of our stallions progeny putting in top performances!

ACE HIGH continues to impress as a young sire. Bullets High claimed victory over 2100m at Wyong, while Leroy Brown delivered at Tauranga, with fellow ACE HIGH progeny Tanganyika running into second. Promising 3YO filly Kitty Flash added to the excitement, running a superb second behind the classy Savaglee in the Gr.2 Levin Classic.

Whangaehu (PROISIR) added more black type to his resume, winning the Gr.3 Trentham Stakes at Trentham on Saturday. His Finest Hour became another individual winner for our champion sire, while Sunny Da Best closed out a nice weekend for PROISIR, winning at Sha Tin on Sunday evening.

For SATONO ALADDIN, stakes-winning gelding Grand Impact made a return to the winner’s circle with a bold all-the-way victory in the Domeland Benchmark 100 Handicap at Wyong. The sire's presence will be felt at the upcoming New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sales, where 57 yearlings are set to go under the hammer.

VADAMOS gelding Hasstobeawinner continued his consistent form at Ellerslie on Sunday, extending his record of never finishing out of the top three this preparation. His career earnings already exceed $220,000.

Congratulations to all the connections!

What a grand horse he is! Whangaehu (PROISIR) claims the Gr. 3 Trentham Stakes today and adds yet another black type win to his record (which now consists of eight wins, eight placings and $368,835 in stakes!) ⭐️

Great to have Cambridge trainer Stephen Marsh along with Dylan Johnson and Bruce Marsh call in yesterday afternoon to inspect our New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka bound yearlings.

After a couple of hours doing the hard yards looking at some lovely horses on a beautiful hot summer day, it was only fitting to sit down after for a cold beer and share a laugh.

There were plenty of reasons to celebrate this weekend, headlined by My Lips are Sealed (ACE HIGH) taking out the Gr.3 Phar Lap Trophy at Trentham. A winner of four races to date, My Lips Are Sealed was sold through our 2022 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $160,000 to Te Akau’s David Ellis.

Up north, Dealt With (ACE HIGH) broke his maiden on debut and in a manor that suggests he's one to watch. “He’s run a time that not many maidens are running (1:09.37), so that’s probably a fair indication of his ability." - Co trainer, Roger James.

The Big Picture (PROISIR) was too tough over 1200m at Trentham. On the same premier card, Five Bells (PROISIR) won impressively over 1600m, giving our champion sire a nice double.

A model of consistency at the highest level, Sacred Satono (SATONO ALADDIN) finished 2nd in the hotly run Gr.1 TAB Telegraph. The 5YO has won six starts and placed in a further 9, earning more than $585,000 for connections.
