Kilmarnock is a purpose built equine facility supporting Wexford Stables, it is situated just 2km from Matamata, New Zealand’s most famed Thoroughbred Racing town. The property boosts

• 28 Boxes
• 10 horse Magnum Walker
• 750m Sand Track
• Barrier Stall
• Round Yard
• 20 Spelling Paddocks

Our exp

erience, expertise and eye for detail, ensures each horse is given an appropriate individual plan through the pretraining stage of its preparation, allowing every opportunity for success when race day arrives. Our main goal with pre-training is to develop a horse’s fitness base prior to their return to Wexford Stables to commence a racing campaign.

AL AZHAR impressed today with a win at her first trial outing. Kilmarnock have taken a racing share for our team who all now have a share in this filly. Kilmarnock Racing Partnership will race her with Jasmine Casey and she will proudly sport Jasmine’s father’s golden Valachi colours. She’s a special filly and we can’t wait until race day . Looking forward to a few outings on this filly 🔵🟡

Super excited for the team at Wexford Stables with SOUGHT AFTER being announced to run in the NZB Kiwi! 🥝 Filling the slot of owners Waikato Stud .

The big man is bound for The NZB Kiwi! 🥝 💪🏼

History has been made with the first-ever slot announced today by Waikato Stud. We’re thrilled to be partnering with the team at Waikato in the Southern Hemisphere’s richest three-year-old race with the quality SOUGHT AFTER (known to those closest to him as ‘Bruce’).

With Wexford also owning a slot, we’re beyond excited to already have two starters guaranteed for the inaugural running of this race.

Two Kilmarnock runners that we couldn’t forget to mention today . Ellen Osborne & Shannon MacDonald set off early this morning to compete in the Rotorua 1/2 Marathon. Both girls finished with fantastic times 1.57.05 & 1.59.05 respectively. Well done - big effort 💥.

The finalists for the inaugural Industry Excellence Awards powered by Entain, have been named and we are so proud to have Shannon MacDonald & Caitlin O'Sullivan announced as finalists.

Shannon is a finalist in the ‘Newcomer to Racing” category . Shannon joined us just over a year ago and has hit the ground running now managing all aspects of Kilmarnock as the Farm Manager. Shannon is mentored by both Lance and Andrew, she has a fantastic rapport with our team of staff, clients and most importantly our horses. Shannon has fully emersed herself into the industry she is not only a staff member but has invested as an owner too having shares in horses at Wexford Stables. Shannon is a rising star in the thoroughbred industry and thoroughly deserves this recognition.

Caitlin is a finalist in the “Women in Racing” category. Caitlin is a very deserving nominee for this as she has many roles within the racing industry. Caitlin manages all online presence across major social media platforms for Wexford Stables and Rich Hill Stud. For Wexford Stables Caitlin can be credited for the syndication of racehorses and much of Wexford Stable’s owner relations. A key achievement whilst an employee of LOVERACING.NZ Caitlin oversaw the role out of ‘The Grand Tour’, she is the ARC Racing Ambassador, has MC’d for major racing events, a well respected Fashion in the Fields judge and similar to Shannon, Caitlin has skin in the game as a racehorse owner, of course, with Wexford Stables
