Re-sharing our boy Fisher again.

Fisher is well and truly ready to go to his new forever home. He would make an awesome barn cat or an employee as pest control. Fishers time with us is coming to an end as we unfortunately can’t hold him forever. We really want to see him thrive and that isn’t with us. Please share this with anyone you may know that would be well suited for Fisher.

Fisher (fisher & paykel) was the cat that was recently stuck in the roof at the local laundromat. Fisher came to us absolutely petrified, after 1 day in the clinic he showed us his true colours which was a super smoochy affectionate cat.

Unfortunately Fisher isn’t very fond of other cats so he would have to go to an only pet home.

Pop in to our Matamata clinic to meet this special guy. He is ready and waiting for his second chance at an awesome life. He has been fixed and vaccinated.

Hi guys I seem to have got myself lost & a very kind lady has been feeding me over the weekend.

I seem to have got myself a bit lost while in town this morning.

FOUND FEMALE CAT
Adult female cat found wondering the main street today calling out, has been handed into us. She is very friendly and very hungry.
Please contact the clinic if you think you know her. Will be held for 7 days before rehoming.

So sad to be posting this AGAIN! Another 7 kittens have been found dumped in a box next door to our building. We understand times are tough but there are serval options and avenues to reach out too before resorting to this. We currently have a total of 11 kittens in our care, one of which is still being bottle fed every couple hours by one of our super star nurses. A lot of care and time go in to these kittens on top of a daily busy clinic.

4 of the 7 we be ready to go to new homes this Friday. All information attached to their pictures.

Male kitten. Had been hanging around a property on Beatty Road since last week.

He was advertised on the local community page with no one coming forward.

If owners aren’t located by the end of the week we will re-home 🐱

Unfornately this baby was brought into us after being hit by a car out front of the Matamata gull this afternoon. Sadly he passed away shortly after arriving to the clinic.
Estimated to be 12 to 16 weeks old, entire male and has no microchip. If you think this is your baby please get in touch. 💙

🤓Clinic Etiquette 🤓
1. Suitable restraint 🦮 : If you're planning to bring your furry friend with you, please make sure to bring a suitable restraint. 2. Be punctual 🏃‍♂️ ⏰ : It is crucial to arrive on time for appointments to respect the clinic's schedule and allow sufficient time for your pet's examination. Failure to do so may result in delays or rescheduling. If you are unable to make it or running late, you must contact the clinic immediately.
3. Be prepared 📄📝: Remember to bring necessary paperwork like vaccination booklets and medical history when visiting the vet with your pet. This will provide the vet with all the relevant information they need to give your pet the best possible care.

Hi everyone, 👋

We understand that times are tough.😓
But we DO NOT condone the dumping of animals (especially cats) at our clinics. ‼️🙅🏽‍♀️

Dumping animals at clinics is not a solution, and there are better options available such as re-homing them responsibly or reaching out to rescue centers for help.If you are unable to look after your pets, please make good decisions when re-homing them. If you are unsuccessful re-homing them, at least have the courage to come into the clinic and leave the animal with us.

We often have success here, re-homing kittens and adult cats.☺️

🚨We have had a recent case this morning.
A poor mother cat was left in the rain, and made a gallant escape, and left her 7 kittens behind. We are presuming she in on her way home and if she does make it there. We would love to reunite her with her babies.

‼️There has been newly discovered strain of lepto in New Zealand dairy herds - Pacifica.2 ‼️

✅ We will now be using Lepto 4- Way instead of Lepto 3 -Way to help protect your herd against this new strain. Please keep in mind this is a new vaccine and your animals will require two shots (4 - 6 weeks apart) then one annually. This will also be the same for your autumn vaccinations for calves.

🚨A little black and white kitten roughly around three months old, was hit by car this morning on Centennial Ave, Te aroha. Due to the serverity of her injuries we had to unfortunately euthanise her.

⚠️Facial Eczema Ahead⚠️

With the constant change in the weather pattern, it’s likely that spore counts will be rising quite quickly. Facial eczema occurs during the summer months (usually January to May). 🌦️

What are the symptoms ? 🤷🏽‍♀️
➡️Drop in milk production
➡️Weakness, ill- thrift, dullness
➡️Sunburn, swelling, redness on unpigmented areas or areas with little/no hair.
➡️Liver damage – this can lead to metabolic diseases the following seasons
➡️Sudden death.

THE BEST CURE IS PREVENTION 🔑
✅Keep an eye on regional spore counts
✅Spray pasture with fungicide before spore numbers rise.
✅Do spore counts from your own property.
✅Supplementary feed, silage, hay, and crops.
✅Implementing Zinc – in feed, water, drenches. For their best protection, individual dosing with a zinc bolus (Face -Guard ) ensures that every animal has had an adequate intake of zinc.

Feel free to drop off a grass or faecal sample into any of our clinic to get your spore counts done.🤓
