I started grooming from home in 2018 and in 2019 completed an "Intense Combined Course" at NZ Dog Grooming School in Tauranga where I gained valuable knowledge.

It's been a busy week ...Spring is here (even though it feels like winter!) And in Spring, there is a lot of shedding going on in dogs that moult...both long and short haired.
CJ, Luna, Aadya all have double coats and had "a lot" of undercoat to be removed. Lace is a retired working dog..even though she has a short coat, there was still a lot of old undercoat to be removed and she looks fresh, shiny and will feel good after her groom.

Buddy and Honey show before groom pics, after the bath, blowdry and brushing of the coat and the final result of the full groom on the right. Honey is an elderly lady and is the same in nature ...a real wee honey and looks and feels so much better after her spruce up. Buddy also has a lovely nature and his coat came up lovely.

Some big and small dogs who have been to visit me for their groom lately 😍...big dogs Cooper, Ash and Stevie are all first time grooms to Shaggy to Sleek and are feeling refreshed and look lovely and shiny and soft with their old undercoat removed.
Small dogs Tuffy, Shadow and Maddy are Shaggy to Sleek regulars have been coming to me since I started grooming 6 years ago 🐾🐾🥰

Cooper and Milo with their double coats feel better now all the excessive undercoat gone after their groom, Poppy, Allie and Tilly have had a little bit more coat left on than usual to get through the cold snap we're having. Doug has been trimmed a lot shorter this time so he can enjoy digging and playing on the farm and will help him stay cleaner and Tora's brindle coat has really popped and looks lovely after her bath, blowdry and brush to remove moulting hair.

Dougie had a bath, blowdry and thorough brush and comb through of his beautiful fluffy coat today. He needs this done about every 2 weeks along with regular brushing to keep a longer coat trim. He really does suit this look.
I'm happy to discuss options and maintenance required for you and your pup. Whether it's a longer, fluffy look like Dougie or a shorter, more practical trim.

Suki and Dougie have both had 4 puppy grooms each and are already find grooming a breeze because they were started at around 10 weeks old... it will be a stress free process for life now 😍💜Nellzer, Millie, Buster and Fergus are looking fresh, soft and cuddly after their grooms too 🐾💖

It's important to keep up the grooming schedule over the winter months. They can be kept longer over winter but still need to come for a regular groom so the coat doesn't become matted.

Tilly's owner decided to make the transition from a full coat to a trim that is easier to maintain. She really does suit it.
And look at the smiling faces of Kobe, Bella and Peanut.
They're all delightful 🥰

In the weekend I attended The Southern Skills Dog Grooming Seminar in Nelson for amazing weekend of upskilling and learning.
Special thanks to Cathy Wallace and Leanne Kingsbury for sharing their wealth of knowledge and willingness to help others upskill and Gaenor Muir and her family for welcoming everyone to her beautiful home and grooming parlour.
And last but not least thank you to my amazing hardworking husband Dave for building this awesome verandah and steps up into my own new grooming room and all his hard work in preparing for the shed as well...digging trenches, concreting in posts and so much more.. 😀🥰🐾

The garage has served me well but it was time to upgrade to a separate grooming facility (still from home). It is warm, well lit, and set up to suit the grooming needs of all the dogs who will come through the door. My own dogs Beau and Sam didn't take long to find the warm spot under the heat pump this morning when it was frosty.
On the right we have the first dogs to be groomed out of the new grooming parlour..Millie, Eddie, Bilbo and Molly.

Yesterday was a special day. My gorgeous granddaughter ''Penelope' got a puppy and brought him to see me for his first groom. His name is 'Dougie' and his is such a chilled good wee boy 💕 Penelope loved being involved in his first grooming experience. He had a bath, blowdry and a trim of the face, bottom and paws. He did so well!!
If you are getting a puppy (or have a new puppy)...getting them to experience grooming early on ( between 10 and 16 weeks)...will set them up for a lifetime of grooming which will be stress free.
If you, or anyone you know has a puppy or is getting a puppy...please get in touch.
I can also help with advice about brushing etc between grooms to help keep your special canine family members free of knots etc between grooms.

Tallulah comes to see me often on a Saturday and I always look forward to her snuggles. 💗🐾 Mayzee is 14 weeks old and had her first puppy groom🐾💖...it's so important to start them early because grooming will be stress free if they experience it early on. To start with they get a bath, an introduction to the blowdryer, face, paws and nails trimmed and sanitary trim.
