Finally at 66 days I feel somewhat confident to celebrate!

From the day Rosie arrived with us, she’s consumed more anxiety, heartbreak & money than I even care to admit to myself🙈😂

So at 16 years of age & after 4 seasons of zero breeding success, I raise a full glass of gratitude to the gods of fertility - both mortal & spiritual!🥂

Google’s reached the age where a feed & sleep is sometimes more appealing than the allure of a pretty filly!!🙈😂

It’s a tough life as a working stallion. They need to perform 100% of the time. We don’t want to start letting down mare owners who’ve spent 💰💰 on cycling their mares!! - so we’re calling time before that day comes!! Just another era! ❤️

Yes, it’s VERY wet but, on the positive, there’s no river running through the property, no wind and it’s warmish🤷🏼‍♀️. Dunedin’s been hit really hard but over the hill on the Taieri we’ve been lucky this time.

These robust weanlings were more affronted by my full body ‘high-vis’ wet weather gear today
than the rain! 😂💦 their stomachs are full & no one’s standing in mud 🥳🙏

The racing team & show jumpers are in the stables & getting plenty of time on the walker!

Concerned he’d be nervous, I gave him the full recommended 2ml. Poor little fellow was out for the count, peed everywhere & broke out in a dripping sweat…..making clipping him just tricky enough!!! Maybe just .5ml next time🙈😂

Meanwhile, Lily (Bizzie Snapdragon, also 4 rising 5) as expected, stood quietly next to him enjoying a sober clip while bathing under the solarium☀️🏝️😂
