Don't be tempted to sneak your dog a bite of your Christmas lunch tomorrow - even if they give you their best puppy dog eyes! Remember, these festive foods are for dogs if you want to avoid an emergency trip to the vet:

🍫 chocolate
☕ caffeine
🍇 raisins or grapes
🧅 onions or garlic
🥜 nuts, especially macadamias, mouldy walnuts, almonds and pistachios
🌽 corn cobs (the cobs can cause gastrointestinal obstructions)
🍖 cooked bones (these can splinter when chewed)
🍬 sugar-free sweets containing xylitol or birch sugar

With Christmas just around the corner, it can be a challenging time for our pets, as
all the festive food and sparkly decorations can be tempting for our furry family members.

To help keep your pets safe this Christmas season here are a few helpful tips:
•Try to keep your festive food out of reach from pets, they are best enjoyed by the human family members!
•Ensure the Christmas tree is secure. Try discouraging your pets from claiming any decorations as they can be hazardous if chewed or swallowed. Glass decorations may not be the best fit if you have playful pets in your home.
•When wrapping presents ensure you pick up all of the left over ribbon, wrapping paper and sellotape. This is to avoid pets chewing or digesting any left overs, as if they are swallowed they could cause severe issues as they pass through your pet’s digestive tract.
