You may have seen this in the DogiE news recently. Dogs NZ are looking at the way the organisation is governed from the top down.
This is a great opportunity for potential change, and it is important for ALL DNZ codes to have a say in how the organisation is structured.
We encourage as many Dog Training competitors and club members as possible to attend these roadshows - find the one closest to you and go to it. This is our opportunity to show that we want to be involved to a greater degree, we are prepared to support change, and have a say as to why we are as important to the organisation as conformation.
I am on the NZ Governance Subcommittee as a representative for Dog Training.
Reece Smith is on the Dogs NZ Governance Subcommittee as a representative for Agility.
Please repost this on your club FB pages, and encourage discussion. The Governance sub committee is prepared to listen!!!

Whoop whoop!! congratulations to everyone that passed the foundation and bronze CGC assessment today.
Everyone did amazing and it was a big day for not just the dogs but handlers as well with the weather giving us a little bit of everything.
Some were so close to passing but just missed out: remember- you all take the best dogs home !! ☺️
A massive thank you to Stephen and Irma Harris as well as our probationary assessor Howard Jones and of course thank you to our club members that volunteered their day to help with the assessment.
Let’s see how everyone goes with Silver and Gold tomorrow
We are a bundle of nerves of our foundation CGC assessment this morning.
Good luck to everyone giving it a crack.

Dont worry CGC (Canine Good Citizen) along with all normal club classes are starting back from Tuesday 16th. Remember you need to be an active club member to attend these classes and class times can be found in our newsletter.
If you’re looking to do the CGC assessment please bring what you will need for the assessment eg grooming tool, dog food and bowl and toy etc. Please leave your dog in the car when you arrive and we will do the questions first then move on with the exercises

Sound on to hear the racket we trained too tonight 🙄 The competition Obedience class training in the extremes. If they can stay through out this they can stay in the ring 🤣
We love seeing what people can achieve with their dogs in a few short weeks. Just over half way through our 10 week public class and look at that heel work!!
The freezing cold weather didn’t deter Dozer from practicing some brilliant retrieves. Such a good boy !!
It’s that time of year again- when the lovely Heavens bakers come out of retirement to do a massive Hot Cross bun fundraiser Pack of 6 for $8 and will be freshly made on Thursday 6th April. All proceeds will be going towards the finishing touches on our new kitchen and then we plan to start work on the bathrooms. PM me with your orders and I’ll give you the bank account to deposit into. Hot cross buns can be picked up from the club rooms between 12-5.30 on the Thursday and large orders can arrange to be delivered.
Some of our classes have been able to run in an alternative location for the past 2 weeks Which has been great for our competition obedience class Even better though is that as of next week all classes can resume on our normal grounds!! 🎉
