Hey everyone Christine here just letting everyone know that for the next few days I will not be online, as on Sunday my beautiful Sister Victoria ,Best friend, foster Mum to a few of my rescue Pups has passed away 😢

My heart overflows with sadness as I'm gonna miss you so much Sis ..you lived your life with courage, loved your motivation of all the creativity things you made for others , including fixing Dog beds that could be repaired for the next Pooch, our conversations I have so many treasured memories of you ❤️

You were a devoted Mum, Nana, Sister, Aunty, Daughter, Friend and foster Mum to many who will miss you dearly.

Rest easy Sis ❤️ these going to be a huge void missing in my life , Love you always ❤️

Below some of the Pups my sister fostered for us , Victoria had been fostering Jett at the time, Jett had been with her since February while we sorted his skin allergies. Thank you Sis for always being there for the foster Pups 🐶 ❤️

Temeprament of the animal:
Excitable but sweet.
Needs more socialising with other dogs, loves new company, can’t get along with cats unfortunately :(
He’s needs work on lead, he gets very excited by other dogs.
He’s been around children but is better around older children such as teenagers

Reason for rehoming:
Due to the construction of sleepouts in our backyard and boarders occupying the area, we don’t have the space he needs.
Not enough time is spent with him as the family is either at work or school.

Awesome news, Sable has been adopted 🥳

Meet Sable 🐾🐶

Sable is needing another foster or forever home asap 💖
🐾
She is approx 6 months old, Female, Staffy/Lab.
She is Registered, Microchipped, 1st Vaccination, Flead, Wormed she's booked in for her 2nd Vaccination and Desex.
🐾
Sable is a quick learner sits on command, learning to wait for her food, doesn’t stray on walks.
She’s been socialised with other dogs, doesn’t show aggression, just wants to play.
Super snuggly and loves cuddles, definitely wants to be a lap dog.
She’s trained to be outside during the day, but comes inside and outside in the afternoon.
Has not nipped, growled or snapped at any other human (kids included) she just wants pats and love.
She has a great bark on her, will make an awesome guard dog due to being vocal on someone’s arrival.
She is great on lead and off and is learning to sit before crossing the road at the moment, my dog Hank is helping with that as she follows his command too.
Sable needs a home with no Cats or small animals .
She does know her name as Sable and responds to it well.

Temeprament of the animal:
Her name is Blue she has a good nature and gets on well with our older dog, not so much with the cat.
She has a lovely temperament.
She would make a great working dog or lovely pet, for someone with a bit of time.
What we have trained her for, she has picked up fast.
Very excited to see u when getting home from work, which is always nice.
She loves kids, but is pretty excitable, so trying to train her to be calm etc.
No issue with stock. Neighbors sheep right on our fence line and not interested in chasing. She does sit or stand and watch them, very still like. Almost as if she knows what to do.

Little update on Athena 🐶

Athena was picked up yesterday from a property in Onekawa she had seeked refuse in a property where two other Dogs resided.
The home owners called the pound around 2ish they respond to the call and instantly the dog was identified as Athena.
She was an easy catch as she put her trust in the Dogs and when they went for a pat so did she (whew)
When I picked her up I could see she was still very scared but not growly like the day before. Was alittle work to entice her out of the car but eventually she came .
She now is settling into a foster home where she is doing so well and being very much doted over by her foster Dad.
Thank you so much Matt who without you she would be still in the Pound ❤️

I would also like to thank everyone for all your shares and sightings to help bring Athena home 🏡❤️

Update - Have been given till tomorrow Friday to find somewhere for Athena to go 🙏

Urgently Needing an experienced foster Home for a 12 month old by tomorrow 🙏

Staffy/X, Female, 12 months old .

She will need somewhere new to decompress in a quiet home with either no children or older children, no Cats and high fencing. Athena has alittle anxiety but normally settles quickly, she also has separation anxiety so someone home alot .

Athena has been in rescue since September while waiting for her forever home.
I have previously transported her between the Pound, her foster home and kennels with absolutely no issues. However, things took a turn this morning while moving to another foster. She became extremely scared, which caused her to growl, nippy and even p**p herself. She has been very distant ever since.

Do not know what this girl's life has been before coming into Rescue but she needs help and deserves a second chance.

He is good with kids, other pets, house-trained and an all round amazing goofball.
He listens to commands, waits for his food, sits, shakes, lays down and will be able to learn so much more with the right owner.

Thank you everyone for all your msgds for Ellie ❤️
We have decided with her previous foster Mum on board to bring her back into Rescue to get her Speyed and ready for rehoming.

💔Ellie was one of our Napier Pound Pup Rescues back in July, she was adopted but thru no fault of hers she's needing a new home ASAP💔

She is 7 months old, her breed is Staffy/x.
She is Registered, Microchipped and had her Vaccinations.

Bio from Ellie's Mum 🐶
Ellie is a really good pup - she trains well is very treat orientated and listens well.
She knows sit, wait, paw, down. (Working on leave)
She will wait to be released for her food wait to come in to the house, she is fully trained for toileting and for us she will tap on the cat door to let us know she needs to go out.
She is crate trained and has just moved in to the larger crate but goes in it for quiet/calm time and sleeps in it thru the night without any hassles (a few treats to go in is all that is needed) .
She has puppy energy but that’s all, she has improved immensely on her jumping up at people and on her baby shark teeth attacks- this is what makes it a tough decision as she really is a good pup but we have to put our other animals first I think we just left it a bit to long for our older boy whose not tolerating having a young Pup around.

She will come with everything we have for her plus happy to provide 3 months of food and flea and worm treatment to make sure she gets the best start.
She hasn’t been speyed because the vet said they wanted her to have her first heat before doing that but we are also happy to cover the cost of this as it is our burden and again we want to make sure she has the best opportunity.

She is really thriving health wise we hope we have at least given her that she just wants to be loved and is very loving.
She isn’t terrible with the cat but will still chase him we are constantly trying to work on this, she is getting better at ignoring him but instincts are there.

💕Much appreciated post to Kate and her partner Dan at Kates Canine Cadets , who since December 23 had a idea of how to help Pound Pooches get some much needed funds to continue Rescuing Pound Dogs .

a charity 2025 calendar, featuring your dogs!
Every dog that stays (unless the owners don't
want them to) will have the chance to be voted
for by you to go into the calendar! This month
I'Il be posting a few photos at a time of all my
December cadets, the top 5 will then be
shortlisted to be the December dogs for the
calendar! (If we do next years December dogs,I
won't get the calendars printed in time).
We will do this every month throughout 2024. If
your dog overlaps their holiday from one month
to the next, well then they have two chances to win!
All proceeds will be going to help Christine
Batista's rescue PPHB and foster dogs here in Hawkes Bay.
